10Gohan Deals a Significant Blow to Raditz

Dragon Ball Z, Episode #5

Gohan was introduced as a timid, scared, and weak child at the very beginning of the Saiyan Saga, far from what his father was at a similar age. However, at a time when power levels meant something inDragon Ball, Raditz often took note of a power that was far too high to be coming from the child trapped in a space pod. When Goku was in the midst of receiving an absolute walloping from his evil brother, that power level continued to climb until an enraged Gohan burst from the pod and charged Raditz at full speed.

With one headbutt to the abdomen, Gohan was able to deal significant damage to Raditz. This moment was the first in the series to hint at an extreme dormant power within the Hybrid Saiyan, and foreshadows a future climactic battle in which Gohan’s anger will take center stage.
