World of Warcraft’s latest expansion,The War Within, hasn’t been out very long, but many players have already reached level 80 and are wondering what to do for endgame content in the MMORPG.The War Withinmarks the tenth expansion forWoW, and is the first of theWorldsoul Sagatrilogy of expansions which will cover a massive overarching story that ties together much of the lore that has been building over the past two decades. Each of these expansions has its own, self-contained story as well, however, and plenty of side objectives and goals to focus on outside the main campaign.
In November and December 2024,World of Warcraftwill be having numerous extra events and goodies for the 20th anniversary of the game, but there is still plenty for players to do before that to enjoy this latest expansion. The War Withinhas an engaging story campaignto experience, a new allied race to unlock, and plenty of world quests and weekly rewards for completing dungeons and tasks. This means that once a player has dinged 80 on their character and might be wondering what to do next, there is a plethora of content waiting to fill that void.

10Unlock Static (Steady) Flight And Complete Side Quest Story Arcs
Static Flight Requires The Story Campaign And Exploration
InWoW: The War Within, players begin the expansion with already having access to dynamic flight, although static (also known as steady) flight is still blocked from use at first. Despite the frustration that many players have found with static flight being locked behind a Pathfinder achievement, thankfully, this time around, the achievement is fairly straightforward and easy to complete.
Anyone who has already completed the campaign will likely have unlocked static flight naturally, but there are many who have reached 80 without doing so. The requirements forThe War WithinPathfinder achievement are simply to complete the three campaign chapters per zone for each of the four zones, and get the Khaz Algar Explorer achievement. This is the standard exploration achievement to reveal all areas of the map.

10 Coolest New Mounts In WoW: The War Within
The War Within brings over 30 new mounts to World of Warcraft. Not all of the coolest ones are available yet, but you’re able to still start collecting them.
Once static flight is unlocked with the Pathfinder achievement, players can then be free to use their non-dynamic flight mounts, and can easily switch between dynamic and static flying. For players with motion sickness or who are simply not fond of dynamic flight, this will be a huge boostto their enjoyment for the rest of the time they are playing inThe War Within.

9Profession Leveling Is Better In War Within… Although Still Not Great
Improvements Have Made It More Worthwhile
The topic ofprofessions inWorld of Warcrafthas been a controversial one, but there has been an effort to improve crafting and professions inThe War Withinexpansion.Talent trees make professions more specializedto focus on what a player wants to work in. Only one specialization can be picked at a time, but there are bonuses to having that specialization and the trees can unlock new recipes or special effects.
Professions are broken up per expansion, so even if someone has skipped a few expansions, they can jump right into crafting inThe War Within.

Endgame is a perfect time to focus on building up the skills for professions and earning gold through crafting work orders. The crafting orders are mostly the same as inDragonflight, with the only real change being that there are now occasionally NPC crafting orders which can be done to gain new recipes, skill points, and even materials.
8PvP Weekly And World Quests
Earn Great Rewards From PvP Content
Season 1 of ranked PvP began on September 10th, which brings with it new PvP rewards. New mounts, titles, transmogs, and more can be earned through play, and this can be a wonderful ongoing goal in the endgame. PvP gear will also increase in item level when engaging in PvP combat, potentially bringing gear up into the 600s.
Players will no longer receive PvP gear from the Great Vault, as PvP is no longer included as a section there.
The War Within’s PvP Battleground, Deephaul Ravine is located in the Ringing Deeps and is a fun place to start for competitive action in a 10v10 Payload-style Battleground or an 8v8 Battleground Blitz and there are four new achievements available. Most PvP rewards can be earned in Rated Battlegrounds, Arenas, and Solo Shuffle, with the exception being that Gladiator rewards and achievements are limited to Rated Arena Battles.
7World Quests And Weekly Events
Unlocked After Completing The Story Campaign
AfterThe War Withincampaign story is finished, world quests and weekly events are made available and begin to appear on the world map, just as happened in previous expansions.World quests give a lot of rewards, including high level gear, gold, renown, and more, and therefore are exceptionally important to do, despite them feeling a bit lackluster at times. Particularly when one first unlocks the world quests, the loot earned through completing them can make a large difference at that level.
I Love WoW: The War Within But I Hate The State Of The Horde
After playing since Vanilla, I’ve experienced every expansion at release so far, and The War Within is among my favorite. I just want one change.
Zone-specific weekly quests offer weekly cache chests, which are even more impressive than the constant world quests, although they may require more effort to accomplish. The cache can contain gold, materials for upgrades, and more. The weekly quests are only available once per week, per zone, and show up on the map with a unique icon. These are different from the Special Assignment quests, which will always state they are Special Assignment in the description.
6Gaining Renown With Factions For Rewards
Four Main Renown Factions To Work On
Working onfarming reputation or renown with factionsis something that exists with every expansion inWorld of Warcraft, and can sometimes feel as though it is a bit of a grind to do so.The rewards that one earns by becoming friendlier with each faction are worth itthough, with mounts, pets, Valorstones, titles, and more can be pretty impressive. The four major factions inThe War Withininclude the Council of Dornogal, The Assembly of the Deeps, Hallowfall Arathi, and The Severed Threads.
With the new Warband system in the game, renown is shared between all members of a player’s Warband, making it even more beneficial to level up these faction reputations.
Aside from those major factions, reputation can also be earned with some minor factions or NPCs in the gameas well. Brann Bronzebeard, the Season 1 delve companion, as well as The General, The Vizier, The Weaver, and even the Theater Troupe all have their own reputation levels for players to strengthen. Leveling up Brann will help with giving boosts to his stats and skills in the delves.
5Worldsoul Memories Events
Only Available For Max Level Characters
It’s no coincidence that the new world event is called Worldsoul Memories, asThe War Withinispart of a greater trilogy titledThe Worldsoul Saga. This event is likely to hold greater significance when combined with whatever Blizzard has in store for players later on, but for now, this event offers cosmetic rewards, Valorstones, and achievements, including one that provides a toy where players can summon a spectral memory of themselves.
During the Worldsoul Memories world event, one Worldsoul Memory spawns every day in any of the four zones in Khaz Algar. Using radiant echoes (found in bountiful delves) the Worldsoul Memory can be triggered and mobs will form for the player to defeat, with a five-minute timer. Mixed in with the mobs are some Rares, which can drop Valorstones and Restored Coffer Keys.
4Delves Are Perfect For Short, Solo Dungeon Experiences
Take Brann On An Adventure Or Two
Solo players are in their element withThe War Withinexpansion’s new focus on delves. These mini-dungeons are designed as content for up to four players, but are easily managed by one player alone, with their NPC companion who will rotate but at the time of writing, it is Brann Bronzebeard. Although they are not as large and impressive as full dungeons or raids, completing these delves can offer some substantial rewards, including radiant echoes which are needed for Worldsoul Memory events.
Occasionally, a delve will become a Bountiful Delve, and will show up on the player’s map. These delves are more likely to contain radiant echoes, and will require a Restored Coffer Key to open up an epic chest at the end. Restored Coffer Keys can be made by combining 100 coffer key shards from world quests, or by meeting some renown levels with factions.
3Special Assignment Quests Can Give Epic-Tier Gear
Timed World Quests
WoWhas introduced new Special Assignment world quests withThe War Within, which are only available one at a time but will provide a Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache for completion. These often have epic-tier gear and high-level items. TheSpecial Assignment quests often require timed questing, so players are encouraged not to collect the quest for a Special Assignment unless they know they will have time to do so. Generally, the timer lasts for a couple of days, but might require daily tasks.
One New WoW: The War Within Feature Guarantees Epic Items Every Week
Players can claim two weekly caches of Epic gear by completing certain quests in World of Warcraft: The War Within if they know what to look out for.
Only one Special Assignment is available at a time, but if players can do multiple Special Assignments in a week, they areguaranteed to earn a piece of Adventurer gear in each of the first two caches and a Restored Coffer Key in each of the first four caches. Getting this high level gear and then upgrading it can potentially provide a very high item level, up to a possibility of 593.
2Farming Valorstones And Crests For Upgrading Gear
Earned From Quests, Raids, Dungeons, PvP, And Other Activities At Level 80
For a player to reach the highest item level possible, it is important to upgrade max-level gear.Valorstones and Harbinger crests are required in order to upgradegear at high levels, and are essentially a currency that players can earn. Valorstones have no weekly cap, but a limited to a maximum of 2,000 that can be held at one time. Crests are also important for upgrading, and have various quality levels that will work for certain item levels. The lowest of these are weathered crests, and going up to gilded.
Earning valorstones and crests can be done by participating in the world events and quests, competing in PvP activities, running dungeons, rewards from renown levels, and more. The fastest way to farm Valorstones is by running dungeons, particularly at Mythic level, but even at Heroic each side boss should drop around 10 Valorstones with the final boss offering more.
1Normal, Heroic, And Mythic Dungeons And Raids
Earns Progress Towards The Great Vault
One of the weekly quests is a dungeon quest that can be obtained each week by Biergoth in Dornogal, requiring a player to do a specific dungeon quest for a large amount of renown for one of the four major factions. In addition to those weekly quests, there are seasonal dungeons and raids to tackle with groups. Running Heroic dungeons can provide item level 567 Heroic gear which can be upgraded to 580. Having strong armor will be necessary for moving on into raids.
Beginning on September 10, the Mythic 0 dungeons and the Nerub-ar Palace raid is available for heroes to tackle. Nerub-ar Palace is available in Normal and Heroic difficulties, with Mythic difficulty opening up on September 17. It is a spider-heavy Nerubian raid, so anyone who has a fear of spiders will want to ensure the arachnophobia filter is turned on before attempting thisWorld of Warcraftraid.
