The powerful ending ofAgatha All Alongproved that two of the series' most emotional deaths could have been avoided.WandaVisionspinoffAgatha All Alongcame to an end on October 30 with an epic double-finale that wrapped up most of the loose ends from the popularMCUPhase 5 series. Agatha Harkness and Death had their final stand-off, Billy Maximoff embraced his new identity of Wiccan, and the truth about Nicholas Scratch,Agatha Harkness' history in the MCUand the Witches' Road itself was revealed.

Agatha All Along’sfinal episodesfeatured some huge revelations, most notably thatthe song, “The Ballad of the Witches' Road,” had been written by Agatha Harkness and Nicholas Scratch, and that the Witches' Road itself was a fabricated reality created subconsciously by Billy Maximoff. This meant that Billy himself had inadvertently caused the deaths of three brilliantAgatha All Alongcharacters, Sharon Davis, Alice Wu-Gulliver and Lilia Calderu, each of whom died on the Witches' Road. However, two of these deaths could have been averted, even if the Witches' Road had been real.

Agatha Recruiting Sharon Davis Doesn’t Make Sense After Agatha All Along’s Finale

Sharon Davis Was The Only Non-Magic Member Of Agatha Harkness' Coven

InAgatha All Alongepisode 2, Agatha Harkness recruited Sharon Davis to join her coven, noting that she could have been the black heart on Lilia’s list because of herWandaVisionidentity of Mrs. Hart. However,Agatha All Along’sfinale revealed that this act of bringing a non-magic individual into the coven made very little sense.Agatha All Alongepisode 9, “Maiden Mother Crone,” revealed thatAgatha Harkness had made the whole thing up, and had used “The Ballad of the Witches' Road” to lure witches into her trap for centuries, but Sharon Davis was not a witch.

Agatha Harkness planned to sing the song with her newfound coven and get them angry enough to blast energy at her when the door to the fake Witches' Road didn’t appear. This would have allowed her to absorb their power and become strong enough to take onDeath and the Salem Seven. Sharon Davis, however, had no power, so she would have simply been a witness to Agatha murdering Alice, Lilia and Jennifer Kale.It makes little sense why Agatha would have recruited Sharon Davis, so her life could have been spared if Agatha had just left her alone.

Agatha All Along Episode 8 Proved Agatha Could Have Saved Alice

Alice Wu-Gulliver Saved Agatha Harkness' Life At The Expense Of Her Own

Following Sharon Davis' demise,Agatha All Alongepisode 5saw the coven take part in Agatha Harkness' own trial on the Witches' Road, which involved her being possessed by the ghost of her mother, Evanora. To save her, Alice Wu-Gulliver fired energy at Agatha. This saved Agatha, but allowed the Salem witch to absorb Alice’s power and life energy, which Agatha claimed was an ability she had no control over. However,Agatha All Alongepisode 8, “Follow Me My Friend/To Glory at the End,” confirms this is not the case.

Every Death In Agatha All Along, Ranked

Instead of draining all of Billy’s power and life force, however, Agatha easily stopped this process after taking just enough. This proves that she could have done the same for Alice on the Witches' Road, saving the young Blood Witch’s life and allowing her to live onafter ridding herself of the generational curse that had plagued her family for decades.

Agatha’s Questionable Actions Make Agatha All Along Even Better

Agatha Harkness Has Always Been A Villain In The MCU

The idea thatAgatha Harkness could have easily averted the deaths of Sharon Davis and Alice Wu-Gulliver, but chose not to, underlines the fact that she is first and foremost a villain in the MCU. Agatha Harkness spent centuries prior toAgatha All Alongluring hundreds of witches to their deaths. While the series proved that she has many redeemable qualities and is a strong mentor to younger witches, such asWanda and Billy Maximoff, she is still a serial killer and a very selfish and morally-questionable individual, which makes her next steps in the MCU even more intriguing.
