Alan Wake & Control Are Perfect Choices For Adaptations
These 2 Remedy Games Are Ready For The Big (Or Small) Screen
BothAlan WakeandControlhave been well received by critics and players alike.2023’sAlan Wake 2, which was released last year after the success of the first game in 2010, ranks as Remedy’s fastest-selling game of all time. The sequel was nominated for Game of the Year at the 2023 Video Game Awards, ultimately walking away with the wins for best game direction, narrative and art direction. 2019’sControlwas similarly praised, and was also nominated for game of the year before winning best art direction.
Control 2was first announcedback in 2022, with relatively few announcements on the project arriving since.

Both franchises, then, have found a great deal of success on their own in the video game space, andboth have been recognized, specifically, for their art direction. This speaks to the power of the fantastical visual worlds that both games create, and it could be stunning to see these worlds brought to life on the big screen if done properly. Both titles offer more than just impressive visuals, however.
Alan Wake 2excels in part due to its horror atmosphere, unique enemies, and mind-bending narrative elements, all of which could make for a creepy and unpredictable film or TV show. TheAlan Wake 2ending, as well, leaves things on a powerful note.Controlmay not lean as much into horror, but the combat and general gameplay is inventive, and the world seems ripe for further exploration. It’s still early days for theAlan WakeandControladaptations, but the two Remedy titles have the potential to be just as compelling in other mediums.
