OneAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayer has taken their farming a bit more seriously than most, covering a huge chunk of their island in crops. Since being introduced to the game in the 2.0 update, growing and cultivating different crops like wheat, pumpkins and other vegetables has been a great addition to the beloved game. As players are able to cook recipes from their dishes for anything from pizza to cookies, there’s always an incentive to grow more.
UserDr_Bowgarttook to Reddit to share their unusual farming methods withinAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, giving players a full look at thegiant space of land covered in a variety of crops to harvest. Totaling at 8 minutes 23 seconds worth of watering, and two broken watering cans, this endeavor is only for the most seasoned of farmers.

The farm occupies almost an entire hillside at the back of an island, a far cry from the small garden that might sit outside the averageAnimal Crossinghome.Dr_Bowgart jokes they’re running an “industrial farm,“and byAnimal Crossingstandards, that seems like a fairly accurate description.
Farming Taken Seriously In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This Dedicated Player Has A Focus
While farming isn’t a huge part ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, its addition to the game in the 2.0 update was very much welcomed. As players yearned for some new things to do and ways to play, growing a variety of cropshas become a pleasurable pastime for most. It’s clear that user Dr_Bowgart has other ideas about things though, showcasing the extreme ways players can choose to farm.
Animal Crossing: Farming Guide (Tips, Tricks, & Getting Started)
As part of Animal Crossing’s new 2.0 update, players can now grow a variety of crops that can be harvested and cooked into tasty-looking foods.
Taking over a large area on the back side of their island, this player’s many crops are spread across an entire layer of their terraformed hill. In response to a question about profits,Dr_Bowgartresponded that they have yet to find out the true potential of their land:“I haven’t had a fully optimized harvest yet, I’ll update once done.“As each crop can grow in bundles depending on the quality of the player’s watering, it would seem this user hasn’t yet mastered their craft, but they’re well on the way to doing so.

Our Take: ACNH Needs Quicker Watering Methods
Take A Leaf Out Of Stardew’s Book With Sprinklers
Despite being mighty impressive, this industrial farm has showcased one ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsbiggest flaws. While encouraging the player tocreate plenty of new recipes and foods, the game doesn’t actively make farming any easier. Though there are some watering can upgrades, the player still needs to manually water each area of crop in a very limited fashion, with the potential of their can eventually breaking.
Stardew Valleyseems to do the farming aspect of things just right, giving players helpful mechanics, upgradable watering cans, and later down the line, the very integral sprinklers. As these can be placed nearby crops to water them without the player needing to worry about anything other than harvesting them, it would seemAnimal Crossing: New Horizonscould do with implementing something similar. But as the focus isn’t on making the same fortune from these crops, it might not be until the next offering in theAnimal Crossingfranchise that players finally see something of the sort.
