Introduced in 2002’sHush, by Jeff Loeb and Jim Lee, Hush, aka Tommy Elliot, was the childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, who, after Bruce’s Crime Alley loss and eventual transition into Batman, used his skills as a world-renowned surgeon to moonlight as a supervillain looking to ruin both Bruce and Batman’s life.

TeasingHush 2before its much-anticipated release in 2025, returning writer Jeff Loeb and artist Jim Lee re-introduce Tommy as he schemes and quotes in eerie — and possibly prophetic — whispers. Closing on a splash page showing Hush wrapped in a dark trench coat surrounded by his masterplans, Tommy wears a sleek black tactical suit underneath it accented by slashes of red running from his neck to his chest, with Tommy’s bandolier, utility belt, and crimson shoulder stripes further differentiating this design from his last. Finally,Hush’s signature bandages now form an ‘X’ on his face, perfectly completing this new look.

Donning a far more supervillain-esque costume than what fans have seen him wear before,Jim Lee’s different but still recognizable redesignhighlights the wardrobe elements that initially made Hush stand out — specifically his trench coat and bandaged face — tweaking them just enough to bring some fresh yet unsettling energy to the outfit. Using gauze to make a subtle ‘X’ over his face,it’s the addition of the suit’s red and black hues and multiple accessories that further enhance Hush’s design, making this remixed look a success but also begging the question of why the change happened in the first place.
