Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s next chapter is finally almost here and with a week left till the publishing date, a new sneak peek has been released. A lot could happen in the upcoming chapter, buta trip back in time has been confirmed, which will give fans a look at Boruto’s first meeting with his second teacher, Kashin Koji.
Although fans do know thatBoruto has grown immensely and become so powerful, there is still a lot unknown about how he acquired some of his new techniques. Fortunately, chapter #13 could dive into this.
The preview shows a flashback of Boruto and Kashin Koji inside Orochimaru’s cave in the Land of Wind. Based on the conversation, this is the first time they’re meeting, and as such, Boruto is apprehensive and suspicious. In the midst of everything happening in the story, this could be a much-needed breather to step back from the action andshed light on Boruto’s newfound strength.

The Series Could Take a Much-Needed Step Back in Time
Naruto’s official database confirmed that Kashin Koji was Boruto’s mentor after Code captured Sasuke. Technique-wise, he helped him learna new version of the Flying Thunder God, but also made him a better shinobi by being covert and utilizing frogs to scout an area. It is also very likely he had a helping hand with the Rasengan Uzuhiko, given that he, unlike Sasuke, can use the base Rasengan. It is interesting to note that Boruto’s hair is much longer compared to when he and Sasuke fought Code, so some time must’ve passed. What he was doing during that period is also another plotline the series will hopefully explore later on.
Due to the timing of the flashback, the chapter could also dive more intothe new mysterious addition to the lore,the Thorn Soul Bulb. After Kawaki finished off Hidari, a strange fruit appeared which is most likely the key to defeating the Divine Trees. Boruto confirmed with Kashin Koji that this fruit was what he was looking for, meaninghe was the only one who knew about it. Kashin Koji could’ve told Boruto about these fruits, and it makes sense that Boruto allied with him, given he has knowledge of how to free his master.
Of course, it is very unlikely this is a flashback-dedicated chapter, as Boruto, Sarada, Konohamaru and Kawaki are in grave danger as Jura is about to get serious. How they escape this perilous situation will be just as interesting as Boruto and Kashin Koji’s flashback, and chapter #13 ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortexcould be yet another great one.
