The new movie is the fourth installment in the romantic comedy series, which follows the life and romantic travails of Renée Zellweger’s title character. TheBridget Jones: Mad About the Boycastsees Zellweger, Hugh Grant, and Colin Firth returning alongside newcomers Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It is a Peacock exclusive in the United States, but its international theatrical release has seen it gross more than $100 million worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing English-language movie of 2025 at the time of writing.

Although the three most recentHalloweenmovies were the highest-grossing, there are not currently plans to make a 14th, as the franchise will be pivoting to television.

Even if it continued the franchise’s pattern of diminishing returns, it most likely would have grossed an additional $14 million, pushing the franchise past even more major franchises.
