Krafton held an initial open beta in Korea in April of this year, where players got a chance to see what the dungeon-crawling would look like on mobile devices. The best part about it is how you can forge fake alliances and use enemies to deal with the players you cheat. That’s where I’m going to have a lot of fun in August.
Dark and Darker Mobileis very similar to thePC game of the same name. It’s a grim, low fantasy game where you explore dungeons alone or alongside other players. Every dungeon is packed with enemies for you to kill and loot to claim, but the real danger is much closer to home.
You see, other players can turn around at any point to stab you in the back and take your share of the loot if they fancy it. The game is all about building trust with others. But if you can’t achieve that, you need to be prepared to take them down at a moment’s notice. After reaching each chest, you can choose to go deeper or make a break for the exit. That risk vs reward system is so tempting that it’s hard to say no, so most players end up overstretching themselves.
WhileDark and Darker Mobilehas a visual downgrade compared to the PC version, the gameplay appears to run extremely well. You’ll have no trouble exploring the darkest dungeons and choosing to go for just one more chest while you feel the breath of your allies getting closer to your neck.
