Act 2 ofDestiny 2’sHeresyepisode has added another powerful new Rocket-Assisted Sidearm to devastate the enemies of humanity. A Void Specialist With All-Around Options
The barrel and magazine perks have three good options for each, which comes down to user preference. The barrel options are: Linear Compensator, Quick Launch, and Smart Drift Control. The magazine options are: Appended Mag, Tactical Mag, and High-Explosive Ordnance. The benefits each of these perks gives are as follows:
+5 to Stability, Velocity, and Blast Radius
+10 to Velocity, +15 to Handling
Smart Drift Control
+5 to Velocity, +10 to Stability and Handling, +11 to Recoil
+3 to magazine size
Tactical Mag
+5 to Stability, +10 to Reload Speed, slightly increases magazine size
High-Explosive Ordnance
-3 to magazine size, +5 to Velocity, +10 Blast Radius
Since this is a Void Sidearm, it has great synergy with Void builds. For these types of builds,a great Void synergy pairing is Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds. This combo will make targets Volatile, while also granting Volatile Rounds from Destabilizing rounds, then defeating these enemies will trigger Repulsor Brace’s Void overshield gift. Another good idea is pairing Feeding Frenzy for faster reloads, with either One For All for extra healing, or Adrenaline Junkie for a damage-boosting perk.
The Lotus-Eater can be acquired from Nightfall strikes when it is in rotation.
However,the all-around God Roll for Lotus-Eater will be pairing Reconstruction with Withering Gaze. Reconstruction is one of the best perks in the game, giving guns a passive reload that can overfill to double the max. For the Lotus-Eater, this means at least 24 shots, if not more, when the magazine additions are used. Withering Gaze is a newer perk that will allow for shots to Weaken targets when aiming without firing for a short period, making it a great debuff tool to buff any outgoing damage.

A Solid Choice With Better Alternatives
For PvP, the barrel options stay the same for player preference, butthe magazine should be High-Velocity rounds. This will give a flat +10 buff to the Velocity and Reload Speed of the gun, which are the most important aspects to have against other players. If you prefer to still have more shots, then Tactical Mag would be the best bet for the added reload speed, along with the small bump in magazine size.
Overall, the Lotus-Eater is a much better weapon for PvE content than for PvP.
The best perk to have in the first slot is Beacon Rounds, which will grant better tracking projectiles and increased reload speed when getting kills. This can be paired with either Adrenaline Junkie or High Ground for bonus damage from kills.The choice of perk comes down to one’s playstyle, as the former grants larger boosts from grenade kills, while the latter does so when killing enemies at a lower elevation.

Destiny 2’s newest game mode, the Court of Blades, takes Guardians deeper into Oryx’s testing grounds, and completing it will reward some sweet loot.
Overall, the Lotus-Eater is a much better weapon for PvE content than for PvP. It can still work in the latter, but there are better options to use in the weapon slot it will take up. However, for PvE, it may prove to be the most dominant force heading intoDestiny 2’s 2025 roadmap, offering a powerful Void Build combo, while also serving as a great pair for anything not reliant on Void synergy. Thus, those looking to take the Lotus-Eater into any ofDestiny 2’s content should look to get these god-rolls.
