According toVariety,Out of the Dustfocuses on Rosie (Windsor), who lives with her husband, Adam (Butterfield), and their daughter in a conservative Christian cult.Her beliefs are challenged when she encounters an escaped convict (Fee). His character gives Rosie insight into a life of freedom and sexual awakening that she has never known within her deeply religious community, leaving her torn between the cult’s darkness and the mysterious darkness of Fee’s character. Meanwhile, Eccleston and Finneran play a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips.

Netflix’s Rebel Moon Was Not Well-Received
While Fee played Kazi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s well-received Disney+ seriesHawkeye, he more recently played the villainous Regent Balisarius inNetflix’sRebel Moonfilms. Zack Snyder had ambitious plans to turnRebel Mooninto a full-fledged science-fiction franchise with numerous sequels, spinoffs, and games that would rivalStar Wars. Despite this,the twoRebel Moonfilms released so far have been critically panned, although the director’s cuts received a slightly warmer reception.

As the overarching villain of the series,Fee has had limited screentime in the franchise so far, with Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) being at the forefront. Snyder has expressed interest in exploring Balisarius' rise to power in a spinoff series starring Fee. GivenRebel Moon’s poor reviewsand the films not reaching the viewership heights they were meant to capture, Fee may not have an opportunity to showcase Balisarius in future sequels or in a spinoff.
Every Difference Between Rebel Moon’s Director Cuts & The Original Versions
As is the usual case with Zack Snyder, there are some huge differences between the original Netflix cut and director’s cuts of Rebel Moon.
Out of the Dustis more promising for Fee, as his convict character will be at the center of the narrative, and will not be mostly relegated to infrequent flashbacks and future sequels that may not come to fruition.The temptations and new experiences Fee’s character offers Rosie will provide much of the conflict and intriguein the psychological thriller. The upcomingNetflixseries is an opportunity for Fee to better demonstrate his talents alongside Eccleston and the rest of the talented cast.
