These characters have appeared without fail in every entry, without any explanation about their existence. For months, fans have speculated that these symbols might have a hidden meaning, one that will become apparent in future episodes. This theory was confirmed byDragon Ball’s executive producer, Iyoku, who recently gave an interview about his role in the series.

What Could The Characters Hide?

Other fans have theorized that these characters will be revealed to be the chant needed to summon the Demon Realm’s Shenron. Seeing as the Namekians, the creators of this mighty beast,have recently been retconned to be natives of the Demon Realm, their chant being unrecognizable to humans would make sense. Lastly, many fans have pointed out thatthe characters depicted all have two lines on top of them, commonly known as dakuten, which are used to change their sound and meaning. This was likely done on purpose, to further hide the true meaning of the message.
