The introduction of the dangerous and enigmatic Demon Realm has helped greatly expand the lore of this beloved series. Yet, the show has also created new mysteries for the franchise that have yet to be resolved, each more confusing for fans than the others.

One of the biggest questions viewers ask isthe meaning behind the red characters on every title card. DAIMA’s Title Cards Hide A Secret Message

The Executive Producer Confirmed This Theory

When the first episode ofDragon Ball DAIMAwas released, fans noticed that the title screens, which always contained the Japanese characters for the episode’s name, contained red symbols. These characters have appeared without fail in every entry, without any explanation about their existence. For months, fans have speculated that these symbols might have a hidden meaning, one that will become apparent in future episodes. This theory was confirmed byDragon Ball’s executive producer, Iyoku, who recently gave an interview about his role in the series.

Dragon Ball Super Is Taking Too Long to Return And the Delay’s Origin Is Pretty Frustrating

The Dragon Ball Super manga has been on a long hiatus following the passing of Akira Toriyama, and the reason spells trouble for the franchise.

While most questions were about the show’s development and his ideas for Goku’s adventure in the Demon Realm, he did give a hint about the red characters included in the title cards. The producer specified that there is a reason behind this decision and that fans should think about what it might mean. He could not share more about the mystery, implying that the revelation would occur sooner rather than later.

What Could The Characters Hide?

Fans Have Several Theories About Them

Despite how little is known about the red characters inDragon Ball DAIMA’s title cards, fans have been hard at work trying to solve the mystery. As of episode #12 of the show, the characters revealed have been: bo, gu, da, be, ji, zu, bi, ga, zo, ba, de, and ji. The order of the symbols does not appear to factor into the hidden message, as ordering them according to the release schedule has not yielded results yet. This has led fans to believe thatthey could be part of an anagramthat is still missing pieces to be resolved.

Other fans have theorized that these characters will be revealed to be the chant needed to summon the Demon Realm’s Shenron. Seeing as the Namekians, the creators of this mighty beast, have recently been retconned to be natives of the Demon Realm, their chant being unrecognizable to humans would make sense. Lastly, many fans have pointed out thatthe characters depicted all have two lines on top of them, commonly known as dakuten, which are used to change their sound and meaning. This was likely done on purpose, to further hide the true meaning of the message.
