The pirates play a fairly key role inThe Mandalorianseason 3. While initially, they seem like a mere force for distraction and antagonization in the season’s opening episode, they return later with a heightened purpose. It’s revealed in the opening scene ofThe Mandalorianseason 3 thatthese pirates were commissioned by theImperial Remnant, specifically Moff Gideon and Elia Kane, to move in on Nevarro. This gives pirates an even bigger role in theStar Warsgalaxy, which could play intoSkeleton Crew- thus making these episodes worth a rewatch.

The episodes listed above show Hondo in full action, especially when it comes to interacting with either other pirates or simply things that happen along the pirating job. These lessons learned from Hondo could certainly come in handy inSkeleton Crew, and will be even more valuable should the famed pirate make an appearance at some point during the live-action TV show. Either way, there’s a lot to be learned from Hondo’s pirate adventures, which will no doubt serve as the basis for those seen inSkeleton Crew.
The Warbird Gang Of Star Wars Resistance
An Underrated Pirate Gang
One of the most prominent pirate gangs inStar Warsis actually featured throughout the animatedStar WarsResistanceseries. Known as the Warbird gang, these pirates are led by Captain Kragan Gorr during theStar Warssequel trilogy era, often working on behalf of theFirst Orderto make their profits. Kragan and his pirates become recurring characters inStar Wars Resistance, which makes just about any episode a good chance of catching them in action.

The two listed above, however, contain their introduction to the galaxy and the time when they cross paths with perhaps the most famous pirate of this era (aside from Hondo, of course): Sidon Ithano, the “Crimson Corsair.“Sidon Ithano was first seen inStar Wars: The Force Awakensas the person who offered transport to Finn off Takodanawhen he initially intended on fleeing away from the First Order rather than joiningthe Resistance. While it’s unlikely that he’s very active during the time ofSkeleton Crew, he still stands as a notable pirate figure in the galaxy.
