As players explore Fallout: London they should make sure to keep an eye out for a notorious Fallout 3 character who is up to their old tricks.

How To Board the U-96 & Get the Language Module

Meet Immanuel - Kant, Your Friendly German-Speaking Submarine AI

First, you’ll need to jump on the debris floating in the water to board the U-96. Onboard, you’ll meet Otto, Hans, and the ship’s AI, Kant. As you’ll soon come to find, Kant only speaks German, making his interrogation quite difficult. To better converse with the AI,you’ll need to pick up the Language Module from the Upton-Burke Headquarters.

The location will be marked on your ATTA-Boy, but once you arrive, you’ll need towatch out for patrolling Naval Walker machines;these are large, walking mines that track you and self-detonate if they catch sight of you. You’ll need to sneak around them and enter the Upton-Burke offices without being seen or attempt to simply outrun them. Once inside, there are even more automated defenses that you’ll need to avoid.

If you can’t get a handle on sneaking, you can use your companion, likeChurchill the bulldog, to tank the damage for you.

Head up the elevator and then towards the consoles on the upper floor. On the way, you’ll need to keep an eye out for some Laser Turrets and at least one Protectronbefore you reach the console containing the Language Module. Grab the Language Module off the console where it sits, then head back to the U-96 to get it installed.

Installing The Module and Escaping The Submarine

Talk Philosophy And Out-Logic The AI

Right when you return to the submarine, Hans will take the Language Model from you and install it, so you’ll have Kant speaking English in no time. Unfortunately, this will also cause Kant to stop all the people on the boat from leaving, including you. To escape, you should talk to Kant.

It would be best if you exhausted all his dialogue regarding philosophy. you may see what options you’ve already picked because they’ll be greyed out. Eventually, you’ll get the option to select “What is your sacred duty?” After Kant replies, select"Ah, so in order to achieve your goals, you treat people as a means to an end.”

If your Hacker perk is high enough, you can hack into the Missile Security system terminal and deal with Kant that way, but you must have a Mastery level Hacker perk.

This will cause Kant to shut down and unlock the submarine door. On your way out, you may talk to Hans for a reward;he’ll give you his flamethrower, which can do quite a bit of damage. Its damage increases the more withdrawal effects you’re suffering, so maybe give hard drugs a try before equipping this new weapon.

Once you’ve picked up everything on the U-96, go to other cool quests floating around London. If you pickFallout London’s Vagabond faction, you cancomplete the ‘Catching Up’ questthat rewards some extra luck.
