AGenshin Impact’s character build may soon change with the arrival of Version 5.1. The update is the next one in store for HoYoverse’s action RPG and it will add more Archon Quests for players to experience, as well as the release of the 5-star character Xilonen. She will be a Geo support unit capable of inflicting RES shred on enemies, allowing the rest of the team comp to deal more damage to opponents she uses her Skill on. Therelease ofGenshin Impact5.1will also come with multiple new events to play through and their respective rewards.

The update will also bring forth a series of system optimizations and, beyond the new quests and Xilonen as a playable character, the developer has confirmed that new weapons are arriving as part of Version 5.1. Considering Xilonen’s signature 5-star sword, there will be a total of four new weapons, all of which have surprising gameplay effects. One of them, however, stands out among the rest, due to its unique effects. Considering this, it may substantially affect a character’s well-established build inGenshin Impact, moving some players to change it once the weapon is available.

Genshin Impact 5.1’s New Claymore, Fruitful Hook, Boosts Plunging Attacks

The Weapon Is Made For DPS Characters

One of the four new weapons from Version 5.1 is a 4-star claymore called Fruitful Hook. This weapon, according to theHoney Hunter Worlddatabase, offers a 564 base ATK stat (at level 90), accompanied by a 27.5% ATK sub-stat bonus (at level 90). Its weapon skill, however, is the most important part. The equipping character’s Plunging Attack CRIT Rate is boosted by 16%. Additionally, after a Plunging Attack hits an opponent, their Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 16% for 10 seconds. This will likely become the best 4-star weapon forGaming’s build inGenshin Impact.

Fruitful Hook Could Become Gaming’s Best 4-Star Weapon In Genshin Impact

Gaming Could Always Have The Weapon Skill’s Bonuses

Gaming’s build is centered around the usage of Plunging Attacks, triggered by his Elemental Skill. As such,he will have a constant 16% CRIT Rate applied to the main source of his damage. Furthermore, he will also get a great DMG boost triggered by what he does best. Currently, Gaming’s best weapon is the 5-star Beacon of the Reed Sea, and it is unlikely that Version 5.1’s Fruitful Hook claymore will surpass it. However, it could be a better option than Serpent Spine, his current best 4-star claymore inGenshin Impact.

Fruitful Hook ties into Gaming’s gameplay kit a lot better than Serpent Spine and it is ensured that he will always have the Plunging Attack CRIT Rate and DMG bonuses active because his rotation consists of using his Elemental Skill to use Plunging Attacks. Players with a 4-star claymore equipped on Gaming may want to consider changing not only his weapon but, perhaps, reevaluating his build. With it,players can reduce a bit of his overall CRIT Rate given that he will already have a 16% CRIT Rate bonus coming from the new weapon.

This could allow Gaming to have improved CRIT DMG via Artifacts, for instance.

Of course, other claymore users could also benefit from Fruitful Hook, even if they are not naturally specialists in Plunging Attacks. A claymore DPS character like Chongyun or Eula inserted into aXianyun team comp inGenshin Impact, for example, could take advantage of Fruitful Hook’s bonuses moving forward.
