NCIS: Origins Premiere Images Reveal Gibbs’ First Team Of Agents

New images from CBS reveal the original team Gibbs was a part of in the upcomingNCIS: Originsprequel series. Set to premiere this fall, the series takes place in 1991 and follows Gibbs during his first years at the NIS Came Pendleton office. Mark Harmon originated the character of Gibbs onJAGbefore moving toNCISuntil his exit in 2021. Now, Austin Stowell is set to take over the role for CBS’s prequel series.Originswill follow Gibbs as he navigates his early career on a team run by Mike Franks. TheNCIS: Originscastis expansive, though, and now we have a look at other members of Franks and Gibbs' team.

CBSshared new images of the cast ofOrigins, giving audiences a look at Gibbs' team.TVLinealso shared images from the set, which reveal a look at the headquarters out of which Gibbs and his team will be operating. You can see the set imageshereand check out the cast images below:

In order, the images show Austin Stowell as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Caleb Foote as Bernard Randolf, Diany Rodriguez as Vera Strickland, Kyle Schmid as Mike Franks, Mariel Molino as Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez, and Tyla Abercrumbie as Mary Jo Hayes.

There Are Other Spinoffs In The Works, Too

To date, there are sixNCISspinoffs:Los Angeles, New Orleans, Hawai’i, Sydney, Origins,and the upcomingTony & Zivaoffshoot.Origins, however, is the first spinoff to be set in the past, and it will center on one of the show’s most beloved characters. While Harmon is not returning, Stowell has the opportunity to give Gibbs new dimensions as he explores the early years of the character’s career and how he came to be one of the most prolific members ofNCIS.

With the show still seeing massive success all these years later, though, it seems that CBS may seize the opportunity to expand the universe further, especially ifNCIS: Originsdoes well.

Despite the focus on Gibbs, though, his teammates are just as important as the dynamic of variousNCIS members,which is something that people come back for. Franks is but one of thereturning characters inNCIS: Origins. In the original series, he’s portrayed by Muse Watson and nowNCISfans will get the chance to see the younger version of him that ultimately helped Gibbs become an NCIS Special Agent.

Vera Strickland is another returning character inOriginsand there are several others that could pop up over the course of the series if the timing is right. Currently, the onlyNCISshows on the air are the flagship series and its Australian offspring, withOriginsandTony & Zivain the pipeline. With the show still seeing massive success all these years later, though, it seems that CBS may seize the opportunity to expand the universe further, especially ifNCIS: Originsdoes well.
