How The New Batsuit Completely Reinvents Batman’s Arsenal in DC’s Absolute Universe

DC Reinvents Its Core Superheroes in the Absolute Universe

In the main DC Universe,Batman’s secret identity being leaked has always been a major concern. If people knew thatBruce Wayne was Batman, then his villains would likely lead an immediate assault on Wayne Manor, just as Bane did during the events ofBatman: Knightfall. Wayne Enterprises would come under fire as well, with people undoubtedly questioning just how much of the Wayne Enterprises funding was actually going towards Batman and his equipment. The leaked information would also put the lives of the extended Bat-Family at risk, butAbsolute Batman avoids all of thissimply by having a different class background.

There’s nothing unique about this Bruce Wayne.

Thisnew version of Batmanisn’t the billionaire prince of Gotham City; instead, he’s simply a city engineer, one of likely hundreds in Gotham. There’s nothing unique about this Bruce Wayne, which is why he doesn’t have to come up with excuses or reasons for his bulky, conspicuous physique. The Bruce of the main DCU has always had to come up with excuses for his random injuries or why he’s in such perfect physical shape, but Absolute Batman is just another nobody in a city of millions. Even if someone did discover his secret identity, it wouldn’t mean anything at all.

Without the mansion…without the money…without the butler…what’s left is the Absolute Dark Knight!

Instead of using his wealth and power within the system to change Gotham City for the better, the Absolute Batman will have to fight against the entire system on his own — the corrupt billionaires and politicians who keep Gotham City a miserable place. Instead of battling them with money and influence, Absolute Batman has the power of utter anonymity. He’s a legitimate faceless person in a city of millions, and it’s perhaps one of the biggest strengths this version ofBatmanhas over the original.
