Steam tells me I have been flirt Respawn ’s newfangled Star Wars biz , Fallen Order sequelJedi Survivor , for virtually 20 hours now . I have barely gotten into it in that time — and not because Survivor isa vastly large gamethan its harbinger , thoughit is indeed that . It ’s because I can not check dressing up , and take pictures of , its torpedo , Cal Kestis .
Survivor is grand in means that make Fallen Order find almost quaintly small in compare , but one of the most fun ways it go beyond the original is that it is , at its heart , a dolly apparel - up game for Star Wars sports fan — the kinds of masses who would tell themselves as some sort of comprehend threat to their identity that they ’d never play dolly dress - up , but absolutely will when say dolly is a Jedi Knight who looks likeCameron Monaghan from Gotham . Previously , Fallen rules of order leave players to customize Cal in various , albeit limit way — you could tweak parts of his lightsaber to your heart ’s contentedness , but Cal himself was restricted to prefer between different poncho and between various colorations of his default train .
Jedi Survivor , on the other hand , perish above and beyond this . Not only are Cal ’s wearing apparel changeable — broken down into individual immix - and - matched categories of jackets and top layers , undershirts , and trouser , and then various colorways — but Cal himself can be return a trim and shave through various hair’s-breadth and facial hair styles found in your travels explore the galaxy . With hundreds upon hundred of likely combination , and that ’s even before you get into all the permutations your weapons or even droid comrade BD-1 can also have , for me at least it think Jedi Survivor is no longer a plot about a lone warrior ’s fighting against the boost of the Empire , but one that take me an important question : can I make the pretty Cal Kestis the galaxy has ever see , and then take lot of fancy photos of him like I ’m conducting a virtual Vogue cover shoot for the holonet ?
