Cassian Andor actor Diego Luna encouraged audiences to re-watchRogue One: A Star Wars StoryafterAndorseason 2, suggesting it will completely change how they see the story.Andorseason 2is just around the corner, with an April 22nd, 2025, release date, and anticipation is building to find out what this second and final installment of the show will include. Particularly becauseAndorseason 2’s place in theStar Warstimelinewill run right intoRogue One, there’s specific interest in how the show will connect to theRogue Onestory.

Evidently,Andorseason 2 will have viewers seeingRogue Onein an entirely new way. PerGamesRadar, in an upcoming issue ofSFX Magazine, Cassian Andor actor Diego Luna said:

Jyn Erso to the left, Cassian Andor in the middle, and Orson Krennic to the right all from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in a combined image in front of a blue background

“You’re going to see it differently, with so much information you didn’t have before. You knew nothing about this bunch of Rebels that got together and made this sacrifice, and then we did a show of 24 episodes about one of them. I definitely believe it’s going to change the experience because it’s now so full of answers – almost many more than you even wanted when you watched Rogue One, like who Cassian’s mother was, what was the first droid he had a strong connection with [that’ll be B2EMO], how his bedroom was… You’ve seen enough of this man now that you will go, like, ‘Holy ****, that’s what he meant?'”

What exactly"that’s what he meant?“refers to of course remains a mystery, but the prospect of one ofStar Wars’best moviesgetting a complete revamp is truly exciting.

Andor Season 2 Will Add So Much More Depth To Rogue One

As Luna Pointed Out, Now We Really Know (Some Of) These Characters

Just as Diego Luna pointed out in his interview, as brilliant asRogue Onewas (and it was), the truth is, audiences didn’t have any connection to these characters yet. That frankly just makes it all the more impressive thatRogue Onewas such a success, but it also means thatgetting to know Cassian so much better inAndorjust deepens audiences’ connection to him all the more. Yes, this will make Cassian’sRogue Onedeath even more painful, but that’s because viewers will finally understand all that it took for him to get there.

Luna also acknowledged that this extends not only to Cassian himself but also to the Rebel cells in general.Star Warshas depicted Rebel efforts before, of course, particularly in shows likeStar Wars Rebels, yet another ofStar Wars’best shows. However,Andorseason 2 will see Rebel cells coming together in a brand-new way—one that truly elucidates the extent of the sacrifice, determination, and grit it took to defeat the Empire.

Our Take On Andor Season 2 & The Prospect Of Improving Rogue One

Andor Season 2 Will Absolutely Make Rogue One Even Better

It makes perfect sense thatAndorseason 2 will improveRogue One, for the very reasons Diego Luna voiced. Having more insight into the years of Cassian’s life directly leading up to the events ofRogue Onewill give even more power to his death. It will also be fascinating to see the Rebel efforts that close to the beginning ofA New Hope, particularly becauseAndoris more focused on the boots-on-the-ground efforts rather thanStar Wars’biggest heroes.

Personally, I cannot wait to see whatAndorhas in store for its second and final season. I already lovedAndorseason 1, but getting to see this new season that will bridgeAndorseason 1 andRogue Oneis something that I’ve truly been looking forward to. Diego Luna’s comments about the effectAndorseason 2 will have onRogue One: A Star Wars Storyonly make that all the more exciting.
