You may be forced to pick between Hyacine and Cipher inHonkai: Star Rail3.3, especially when considering the limitations imposed over the acquisition of free Stellar Jade, the resources that permit you to purchase Star Rail Special Passes. At the moment, developer HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG is still in the early stages of Version 3.2, a huge patch that is expanding the planet and story of Amphoreus. The current update is in Phase 1, which means players have access to a limited-time banner featuringCastorice inHonkai: Star Rail, but that changes within a few weeks with Phase 2.

With the arrival of the Phase 2 banners, Castorice will be removed, as well as the triple rerun banner featuring Jiaoqiu, Acheron, and Fugue. These banners will give place to Anaxa’s debut banner and Dr. Ratio’s long-awaited and much-needed rerun. Like Phase 1 banners, the Phase 2 banners should be available for three weeks, given that the current update lasts the regular six weeks. After this, the game should enter maintenance and eventually add the following patch, which will continue to expand Amphoreus with twonew characters inHonkai: Star Rail3.3.

Hyacine & Cipher Are The Two New Characters In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3

Both Units Are Confirmed To Be 5-Star Characters

These two characters are Hyacine and Cipher. Both of the Chrysos Heirs have been teased by the developer via drip marketing posts on official social media accounts. This is a practice that often confirms the characters for the following patch, so both Hyacine and Cipher can be considered confirmed for Version 3.3. Aside from the characters’ key arts, HoYoverse has also confirmed more details about them. For example, both Hyacine and Cipher are new 5-star characters – while they are not the problem themselves, this only deepens the larger issue about thelack of 4-star characters inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.3 Leaks: New Free Character Event Can Significantly Help F2P Players

Players may get a free 4-star character during a Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 event, and the selection of units is fantastic compared to previous iterations.

In addition to their rarities, the developer also revealed each unit’s element and Path. According to HoYoverse,Hyacine is a 5-star Wind character who follows the Path of the Remembrance, while Cipher is a 5-star Quantum unit on the Path of the Nihility. Cipher’s role as a debuffer can be deduced thanks to her Path alignment, but given Remembrance’s multi-tool versatility, ranging from support to DPS, it’s not possible to guess exactly how she will operate. Luckily, however, the many Version 3.3 beta test leaks have already revealed many details about each of these character’s kits in the game.

Pros & Cons Of Saving Stellar Jade (Pulls) For Hyacine In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3

Hyacine Has The Potential To Become The Best Healer In The Game

Even though HoYoverse has yet to confirm and detail Hyacine’s abilities in the game, which will likely occur about a month from now during the Version 3.3 livestream, the leaks have already revealed the majority of the information aboutHyacine’s kit inHonkai: Star Rail3.3. Based on these leaks,Hyacine is expected to operate as a healer in team comps, restoring HP for her allies with the aid of her memosprite, allegedly called Ica. With both her Skill and Ultimate, according to the leaks, Hyacine can summon Ica and restore HP for her allies.

However, with her Ultimate, Hyacine enters the Petrichoric Clear Skies state, which increases the Max HP for all her allies.

Additionally, when Hyacine is in the Petrichoric Clear Skies state, Ica immediately takes action to heal allies after Hyacine uses an ability. One of Hyacine’s passive Traces sees that she and Ica have their CRIT Rate increased by a whopping 100%. This hints at her potential as a contributor to the team comps’ damage output. Furthermore, the leaks show that Hyacine’s build should revolve around SPD, too, as she can increase her Outgoing Healing with every excess SPD point over 200, up to 200%.

In terms of Hyacine’s presumed positive aspects, she will be a reliable healer. She can provide healing continuously through her abilities and through her memosprite, Ica.Furthermore, because of her high SPD, she should be taking actions quite frequently, allowing her to heal allies more often– and if she is the Petrichoric Clear Skies, Ica can ensure even more healing after Hyacine heals. Another good aspect about her is her increase to Max HP, which should make her a great healer forCastorice’s team comps inHonkai: Star Rail.

Hyacine’s leaked Max HP increase should also benefit characters like Mydei and Tribbie. With Tribbie, specifically, who has a passive who gains extra Max HP based on a percentage of the team’s summed Max HP scores, Hyacine is particularly good, too, as the new Remembrance character is expected to have a high Max HP score.

For HP loss teams, Hyacine may become the best healer in the game, especially when used with Castorice, Mydei, or Tribbie. Currently, the best and most reliable healer for these characters is Luocha. He is a fantastic healer that can continuously provide healing, but he has two major downsides for this type of team comp: he scales off of his ATK stat, which means his Max HP isn’t too high, and he buffs ATK, which is not the stat used by these characters. Hyacine should provide a great alternative for characters who use HP loss inHonkai: Star Rail.

Hyacine may not be immune to problems, however. Based on the leaks, it seems like Hyacine may be a tough character to build, especially when considering the stat requirements and the randomness involved in farming Relics and Ornaments.Hyacine will seemingly require a large Max HP score, summed by massive SPD boost, Outgoing Healing Bonus, and, possibly, even some CRIT DMG if you want to take advantage of her guaranteed 100% CRIT Rate. The tough part of Hyacine’s build may be getting her SPD well over 200 without sacrificing too much of the other required stats.

Pros & Cons Of Saving Stellar Jade (Pulls) For Cipher In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3

Cipher May Be A Damage Dealer & Debuffer

Cipher, on the other hand, will likely operate as a secondary DPS and debuffer. According toCipher’s leaked kit inHonkai: Star Rail3.3, the Nihility character will decrease her target’s ATK with her Skill and deal True DMG to them with her Ultimate. The True DMG is allegedly recorded, and then a portion of it is distributed among the targets of her next Skill’s usage.Cipher can also seemingly launch follow-up attacks against enemies with the highest Max HP when allies attack them. Like Hyacine, Cipher also uses SPD to improve her stats.

Memory Of Chaos Update In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Could Finally Make You Pay Attention To Team Comp Lineup Orders

A new leaked mechanic added with Memory of Chaos in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 may force players to carefully think about their team lineups.

Additionally, Cipher’s mere presence on the field reduces all allies’ DEF, which can significantly help the team. If built correctly, Cipher could contribute immensely to the team’s damage output via her own attacks and her debuffs. The character’s downsides include a tough build to achieve and the fact that her abilities aren’t all too remarkable to justify her usage.Cipher could be fantastic alongside Acheron inHonkai: Star Rail, for example, but she feels like she could be easily replaced by Jiaoqiu or Pela without any major losses.

You May Want To Save Stellar Jade For Honkai: Star Rail 3.4

Hyacine May Be Better Than Cipher, But Upcoming Releases May Convince You To Hold Your Pulls

Between Hyacine and Cipher (and based on the leaks), Hyacine feels like the better character to pull for. Hyacine is said to be a healer, and HP-restoring sustain characters in the game aren’t as abundant as damage dealers and debuffers. Furthermore, she feels like a significant improvement from Luocha within HP loss team comps. Even if not used with these types of teams inHonkai: Star Rail, having extra healers for various situations is often better than having more unremarkable secondary damage dealers like what Cipher seems to be.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: New Material Teases The Release Of Anticipated Character

A new material has been leaked during the Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 beta tests and it may hint at the upcoming release of an anticipated character.

Even though Hyacine feels like a safe character to pull for and an investment into the future, you may feel compelled to hold your pulls for Version 3.4 or beyond. There are several leaks and rumors that indicate that Phainon will be released in Version 3.4. The speculation is that he will be a DPS, but considering his popularity, he may be a game-changing character. If you appreciate him, you may want to consider saving your pulls for him. Additionally, there are also rumors about the start of theFatecollab withHonkai: Star Railin Version 3.4.

HoYoverse hasn’t announced which units will be released for the collab event, but if characters from the anime, such as Saber and Archer (who are rumored to be the featured units in the RPG), are released, you may want to save your pulls for them instead, too. For now, this is all based on leaks, and holding back may mean you’ll lose a reliable healer inHonkai: Star Rail, but the risk may be worth it.
