The new season is being marked by thein-game event GO All Out,which runs from Tuesday, September 3, at 10 AM to Tuesday, June 25, 2025, at 10 AM local time. The start of the event and thenew season Max Outis set to see a host of new features, including the introduction of theDynamax mechanic intoPokémon GO.

During the GO All Out event there are several ways that you’re able to add Grookey to your collection. The first is by encountering it in the wild on your travels. All three starter Pokémon, which are making their debuts during the event, will spawn more frequently than other Pokémon, so if you keep moving you are likely to find one.Grookey can also be found inside 5km eggs, so if you have any that you are currently working on, get walking to hatch them!
Only 5km eggs found during the GO All Out event have a chance of hatching a Grookey.
you may also find Grookey by completingevent-themed Field Research tasks. These will be given to you at random when spinning PokeStops, but you can repeat them as many times as you want throughout the event. Finally, you will also be able to useMax Out Special Researchwith branching paths that will be available to all Trainers. For this, you will pick one of the Galarian starter Pokémon and will receive additional opportunities to catch Grookey if you select it.

Earning Candies To Evolve Grookey
The GO All Out event also brings the debuts of Grookey’s evolution tree, Thwackey and Rillaboom. To add these two new Pokémon to your Pokédex inPokémon GO, you need to evolve Grookey. This can be done by using Grookey Candy andselecting Evolve on its summary page. To evolve it to its second stage, Thwackey, you need to have 25 Grookey Candy, and to further evolve it into its final stage, Rillaboom, you will need a further 100 Candy. Thankfully, you don’t need to use any of theEvolution items inPokémon GOto evolve Grookey.
you may farm extra Grookey candy by selecting it as your Buddy and walking with it, or by transferring any additional Grookey that you catch and don’t want.
Each time you catch an additional Grookey, you will earn three Candy, but this can be doubled to six if you use a Pinap Berry before throwing a Poké Ball at it. Due to its current increased spawn rate, you can quickly capture several Grookey and in turn earn more Candy for it. If you do transfer any duplicate Grookey you catch, it is a good idea to check the IVs for them first, so you can keep the most powerful versions to use in the GO Battle League.
Can Grookey Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?
