Shiny Meloetta is available for Trainers to obtain for the first time ever as part of a new reward program involving thePokémon HOMEapp. to get this rare Shiny Mythical creature, you’ll need to own a copy ofPokémon Scarlet & Violeton Nintendo Switch, as well as theHidden Treasure Of Area Zeroexpansions:The Teal MaskandThe Indigo Disk.
While the goal of most Pokémon games is to catch ‘em all, some Trainers take this one step further by committing to finding aShiny version of each Pokémon. These rare variants have different color schemes and are very hard to find. Shiny hunting got a bit easier in theScarlet & Violetgames on Nintendo Switch, but some Pokémon, like Shiny Meloetta, have remained completely unavailable… until now.

How To Get Shiny Meloetta In Pokémon Home
It’s A Long Journey To Complete All Three Scarlet & Violet Pokédex Sets
To claim your Shiny Meloetta, you’ll need tocomplete the Paldea Pokédex, the Kitakami Pokédex, and the Blueberry Academy Pokédexwithin thePokémon HOMEapp. This means you’ll need to catch them all in thePokémon Scarlet & Violetgame on Nintendo Switch, and then transfer them all over thePokémon HOMEapp, making it a very lengthy challenge.
The first requirement means you’ll need to have completed the basePokémon Scarlet & Violetgame on Nintendo Switch and have caught or evolved every single Pokémon listed in thePaldea region’s Pokédex. There are400 of them in total.

You need to catch these Pokémon directly inPokémon Scarlet & Violetand transfer them across toPokémon HOMEfor them to be eligible, so you won’t be able to use Pokémon caught in previous games to finish this challenge.
The second step is to completeThe Teal Maskexpansion and catch every Pokémon listed in theKitakami region’s Pokédex. This includes the Legendary Ogerpon, as well as the Loyal Three trio: Okidogi, Monkidori, and Fezandipiti. There are200 of them in total, meaning this is a smaller task than the Paldea region’s Pokédex, but it will still take quite a while to finish.
As for the final step, you’ll need to finishThe Indigo Diskexpansion and catch every Pokémon listed in theBlueberry Academy region’s Pokédex. There are243 of them in total. This includes all the returning starters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, which can only be obtained by spending Blueberry Points (BP) to ‘boost biodiversity’ in each Biome of the Terarium.
you’re able to ‘boost biodiversity’ by interacting with theSupport Board in the BB League Club Room. Each one costs 3000 BP. Saving up that amount every time is quite a time-consuming process, so be prepared to grind.
After you’ve caught every single Pokémon listed in the Paldea Pokédex, the Kitakami Pokédex, and the Blueberry Academy Pokédex, you’ll need totransfer them all over to the Pokémon HOME appon Nintendo Switch. Once you’ve completed all three Pokédex sets, you’ll be rewarded with your very own Shiny Meloetta – making you one of the first Trainers in the world to own one.
It was already possible to catch aregular MeloettainPokémon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Diskexpansion, although the process for encountering it was quite convoluted. You had to visit a specific area of the map, spin around in circles for a set length of time, open the camera, and choose a specific filter. Now, dedicated Trainers can finally add a Shiny Meloetta to their collection, too.
