However, like any fisherman could tell you, Northern Pike are feisty fish that aren’t easy to catch. You’ll have to find the best spot to fish for several Pike that can be used to craft the melee weapon.
Not everycharacter build inOnce Humansupports using the Frozen Northern Pike weapon, especially ones that don’t rely on Frost damage. The frozen fish is actually a decent melee tool for taking on enemies with Frost weaknesses during missions. As a result, it could be a good weapon to have simply in case you go up against a tough boss whose only weakness is tied around Frost.
Where To Catch Northern Pike Fish
Find The Perfect Fishing Spot
There are a few steps you need to take to craft theFrozen Northern Pike, starting withfinding a good spot to fish forNorthern Pike. These fish are most commonly found in the waters within the Red Sands region on your map. Use a vehicle like yourMotorcycle inOnce Humanto travel to this area quickly with a fishing rod in hand and plenty of bait.
The fishing mini-game inOnce Humanis fairly intuitive, as you only need to press a prompt when you get a bite. Then, simply adjust the direction of your fishing pole multiple times until a fish is fully hooked to catch it.
The best place in the Red Sands area to catch a Northern Pike isnear the Sutherland Chemical Plant, which is near the Broken Delta atcoordinates (5083, -6080). The narrow reservoirs of water in this space are very easy to fish in without the threat of too many enemies, as you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorTurnTheRage.
You have touse Universal Bait to catch Northern Pike, as the fish will likely not respond to other items you put on your line.About 11 Northern Pike are needed to craft the frozen melee weapon, so this process is a lot of trial and error. Stay patient and fish for as long as you need, until you get enough Northern Pike for the weapon crafting.

Speak To The Right Vendor Or Make A Wish
Once you have the Northern Pike you need,head to the NPC Margerie, who is also located in the Red Sands. This character can be found near the Pier of the region, which is atcoordinates (7220, 103). Interacting with Margerie will bring up her store menu that holds the Frozen Northern Pike blueprint, but it is surprisingly labeled the"Frozen Tilapia"blueprint in her inventory.
Itcosts ten Northern Pike to buy the blueprint, which is why you had to catch so many earlier. Similar to other food items likeOnions inOnce Human, the Northern Pike you caught could be used in other recipes, but they are currency with Margerie.

Use The Right Materials At An Advanced Station
The blueprint for the Frozen Northern Pike requiresone Northern Pike fish and Ice Cubesto craft the weapon. You should try tocraft the weapon at anAdvanced Gear Workbenchesto maximize the tool’s damage potential when it’s created. It’ll cost 12Ice Cubeto reach Tier V at this station, but these items should be easy enough to farm, unlike somecrop items inOnce Human.
Ice Cubes can be made by putting Purified Water in a Fridge. Water Purifier structures can turn Boiled Water or Dirty Water into Purified Water, which can be easily frozen for the items you need.

The stat increase from the Advanced Gear Workbenchcannot be applied after the weapon has been made. You can only do this by enhancing the Rank of the item’s blueprint with the right number of materials mentioned before. It may cost some Energy Links in addition to the extra materials required to craft the best version of the Frozen Northern Pike.
How To Use The Frozen Northern Pike
Ramp Up Frost Damage On Your Enemies
The Frozen Northern Pike canfreeze targets when you hit them with impact or heavy attacks. Doing this also generates a Frost Vortex effect, which can only be triggered once every four seconds. This Vortex builds up tons of Frost damage over time as enemies stand in it, dealing damage over time that is easily applied to foes who were attacked and frozen in place earlier.
The Frost Vortex effect has a radius of 4.5m and inflicts 30% Psi Intensity Status damage per second over the course of four seconds. Two Frost Vortexes can exist at the same time.
While the Frost damage from this weapon cannot hit critically on enemies, it’s a great way to tear through health bars. If you’re up against a powerful boss like theForsaken Giant inOnce Human, the Vortexes the Frozen Northern Pike creates can be a great way to deal with minions the creature summons. As a melee weapon, the Pike isbest used at short rangesagainst high priority targets.
Although this weapon is quite hilarious compared to the other melee weapons in the game, do not underestimate its strength. Those who get the Frozen Northern Pike inOnce Humanmay find that a character build could really use the weapon to deal tons of Frost damage to foes in future boss battles or missions.
