Actor Mark Proksch explains how a new character inWhat We Do In The Shadowsseason 6 affects his character. Proksch plays Colin Robinson, the show’s plainclothes-wearing “energy vampire.” In addition to Proksch,What We Do in the Shadowsfeatures a leading castincluding Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillen, Kristen Schaal, and Doug Jones. The series returns for its final season later tonight, airing its first three episodes on October 21. From there,What We Do in the Shadowswill continue with weekly episodes on Mondays until December 16.
In an exclusive interview withScreen Rant, Proksch discusses how the introduction of Jerry the Vampire affects Colin Robinson. According to the actor, the introduction of Jerry equates to “more piling on Colin.“Proksch adds that “this guy can’t buy a friend.” Despite Colin’s friction with Jerry, Proksch assures that actor Mike O’Brien “couldn’t be further away from that character.” This dissonance, Proksch says, made it even more fun to work opposite O’Brien for the role. Check out the full quote from Proksch below:

It’s just more piling on Colin. This guy can’t buy a friend, and the actor playing him, Mike O’Brien, is a friend of mine, so it was fun having him on, and he does such a great job. Mike couldn’t be further away from that character. Mike’s such a sweet, nice guy, and brilliantly funny. It was fun getting to interact with him, where he’s always put off by Colin Robinson put, always annoyed by me, and that was endlessly fun.
How This Will Affect Colin Robinson’s Season 6 Arc
Colin Robinson Has Already Been Through A Lot
Jerry the Vampire has been referenced in the series before but has not been seen in the comedy series. According to summer reports about Jerry’sWhat We Do in the Shadowsseason 6character, he is a former roommate of the vampiric group that they realizedthey had forgotten to wake up from a slumber since 1976. Played by O’Brien, Jerry the Vampire will undoubtedly change the dynamic between not only Colin, Laszlo, Nadja, and Nandor, but also for another recurring lead, the Guide.
10 Times Colin Robinson & Laszlo Were Friendship Goals In What We Do In The Shadows
What We Do In The Shadows has many great relationships, both between humans and vampires, but Colin and Laszlo’s is by far the best of the lot.
Colin Robinson has already been through a lotinWhat We Do in the Shadows, so it will be interesting to see how Jerry adds to that arc. At the end of season 3, Colin is killed, but then later comes back as a disconcerting baby with an adult Colin’s face. The Colin baby’s rapid aging meant that Colin eventually grew back to the age at which he started the show. Not a child anymore, Colin is once again ignored by his roommates, which will create a fun dynamic when another person is added to the picture.

What We Do In The Shadows Is Keeping Things Fresh And Familiar
Adding Jerry Will Be A Good Way To Create Variation Without Straying Too Far
Hearing Proksch talk about Colin and Jerry’s relationship, it seems that Jerry will add both novelty and familiarity to this final season. I think adding Jerry is a wise way to ensure season 6 is not just a repetition of previous seasons character-wise. The show has already done this by incorporating the Guide as a main character, so season 6 will continue this trend. By having Jerry also ignore Colin, however,What We Do in the Shadowsseason 6 will also recreate some classic character dynamics that make the series so funny.
