Goro is the third and final Breaker that is currently playable in the early access version ofHyper Light Breakerthat was released on January 14, and his SyCom stats make him an interesting Breaker to play. His base stats for both of his SyComs are skewed away from HP and towards stats like critical hit damage and Blast, meaning he’s going to be best with a Rail-focused build. With this in mind, Goro’s best build is one that allows for high damage alongside survivability like Lapis.

Goro’s two SyComs, Astrologer and Sniper, both feature high Crit DMG and Blast stats with lower HP and Armor stats than Lapis and Vermillion. These stats can be upgraded using various rare materials found in the Overgrowth, but only to a certain point. In general, these base stats, along with the perks that each SyCom has, will determine what kind of build works best on each Breaker.

Best Loadout For Goro

Build Blood Stores And Deal Massive Damage

As players run the game more and more, they’re starting to recognize thatthe best Holobytes are the ones that get more powerful as you play, making the Holobytes that scale with how much Bright Blood you have in your cache particularly powerful. There’s no upper limit to the bonuses that these Holobytes can give outside your ability to collect Blood, so spending extra time in runs farming Bright Blood will be to your benefit. To get Goro’s Crit Blood build up and running, here is the gear you should look for alongside the Sniper SyCom:

Soldier’s Light or Giant’s Needle

High fire-rate weapons, like the DZR

Personal Preference, something to synergize with Blade/Rail Affix if possible

Armor

Personal Preference, something with increased Blood Gain, Battery, or Rail DMG

Your initial priority is getting anything toboost Blood gainand yield for your initial runs. Plasma Powered increases effectiveness the more Blood you gather, so starting off building your bank will set you up for success later in the cycle when it’s Crown fighting time. Spiked Cleats add more base DMG and are just overall helpful, but the stars of this build are Plasma Powered and Micron Edge. Micron Edge increases your odds of a Critical Hit by 10% while also increasing Crit DMG by 50%.

If you’ve got the Cores for it, upgrade your .Exe to Tier Three to unlock Synergy. For each tier of Synergy you install, you get +10% damage for each piece of gear that matches Affixes. That means if you have an Affix like Burn or Hack on both your Blade and AMP, you’ll gain a 20% DMG increase with one tier of Synergy. For two tiers, this boost would double to 40%, and triple to 60% with three tiers.

With Sniper, you already have a higher chance of getting a crit, so Micron Edge will only make your damage higher.Plasma Powered critical hits have the potential to do truly devastating damage, and with a high-fire-rate Rail, you’re almost guaranteed rapid crits as you fire. Critical Cuffs are one of the fewprecious ways to heal inBreaker, and with them healing on critical hit, you’ll have healing on demand as long as you have Battery.

SyCom Upgrades To Prioritize

If the healing that Critical Cuffs offers isn’t enough, you’re able to upgrade Goro’s SyCom stats using Cores as part ofBreaker’s permanent progression system. With most of Goro’s stats already being so high, it’s worth it to toss a few levels into HP just to have a bit more survivability. If surviving isn’t an issue for you, increasing your OPS and Crit Damage are your best bet.

How Many Bosses Are In Hyper Light Breaker In Early Access?

Players who are just looking at Hyper Light Breaker will want to know how many bosses they can expect to face and if more will be added to the game.

Crit DMG’s effect is obvious, but OPS' is less so. According to a dev in the officialHyper Light BreakerDiscord,OPS stands for “Odds Per Stuff,” referring to any instance in the game that’s left up to chance. For damage, this means that the higher your OPS, the higher your chance to deal damage on the upper range of your weapon’s possible output. For gear, this means you have a higher chance of getting higher rarity or level gear. OPS is a mysterious stat, and it’s uncertain as to what, mechanically, it’s improving, but it makes a marked difference in terms of how good your gear choices will be.

How To Play Goro’s Crit Blood Build

With Little Effort, Goro Can Deal Huge Burst Damage

As you might guess, the key to this build is increasing your Blood cache to increase your Rail damage. High Rail damage will make your Crits stronger as well as increase the effectiveness of your group add clear, as the Chaining Shot is the only thing in your kit other than your AMP that has the capacity to target more than one enemy. The main goal of your first few runs is to clear out Blade and Rail spots on the map, picking up Prisms on the way.

attempt to clear out most of the map before heading to the Crowns, as these bosses are no laughing matter, even whenplayingHyper Light Breakerin co-opwith friends. They’re tough to beat, especially solo, so making sure you’re fully prepared will help you hang onto your gear longer. Once you’ve got the Holobytes you need, the build itself is pretty easy to run. There’s no special gameplay loop, as the critical hits will trigger automatically.

One thing to keep in mind is that maintaining your Battery is necessary to be able to use your Rail. That means you shouldn’t neglect to use your Blade relatively often, swapping between the two mid-fight to take advantage of your full loadout.

The long and the short of this build is thatas long as you’re maintaining 2,000–3,000 Bright Blood in the bank, which is extremely doable with a few good runs and a Blood gain booster, you’re going to be doing damage. There’s nothing special about the build other than the high damage and survivability that it offers, and it is less complicated than running something requiring a lot more synergy. Goro is a unique character, and this Crit Blood build is particularly suited to navigatingHyper Light Breaker’smany grueling challenges.
