Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s one-hundredth chapter was definitely one for the ages, as it finally paid off and revisited a highly anticipated plot point that was put to the side for two years. Furthermore, the new reveal changes everything and shifts the dynamics of the characters as well as the progression of the story.

In Chapter 20 ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, Team 7 and the Sand Ninja find themselves cornered by Ryu, who has stolen Araya’s blade—the only weapon capable of countering him. The group is at his mercy, and instead of killing them immediately, Ryu seeks information about Boruto first. After Yodo attempts to negotiate with him, Ryu delivers a fatal blow by punching a hole through her chest. In this moment, Yodo speaks to the distressed Sarada, encouraging her to harness her hidden power without hesitation.

This advice leads toSarada finally activating her Mangekyo Sharingan, which allows her to gather all of Ryu’s Iron Sand that had immobilized her allies into one spot. While the chapter ends on a cliffhanger, it provides ample clues to deduce Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan abilities, and I have discovered them.

Sarada’s Ability Is One Of The Most Powerful

Every Mangekyo Sharingan comes with two abilities, one in each eye. Itachi has the potent genjutsu, Tsukuyomi, and the inextinguishable flames, Amaterasu. Sasuke similarly had Ametarasu and Kagatsuchi, which allowed him to freely manipulate the black flames. Obito’s abilities were simpler but far more powerful, with him being blessed with long-range Kamui that can suck in anything into his dimension and short-range Kamui that allows him to move in and out of the dimension at will. Madara also had a Mangekyo Sharingan, but he never used any of its abilities, probably because he had the Rinnegan already, which was more lethal.

From the little the chapter showed, it seems like Sarada managed to conjure up a black hole that sucked up all of Ryu’s Iron Sand. This could be another space-time ninjutsu, which is very similar to Obito’s long-range Kamui but much more powerful and destructive. The fact that it managed to absorb the tiny sand grains speaks to its range, as it means that nothing can escape it. This is how black holes work as well, as the gravity within them is so strong that not even light can escape. Furthermore, the Black Hole can elongate anything of any size infinitely until it can suck it in, which means that Sarada’s ability can trap anything no matter how big it is.

While it seems like the Black Hole is the only one of the two Mangekyo Sharingan abilities revealed, there is a very real possibility the second one has been subtly shown in action. Both Sasuke and Obito’s Mangekyo Sharingan abilities are related to one another, with Sasuke’s making the other effective and Obito’s extending the range of Kamui. In Sarada’s case, there is a possibility that the first ability is to conjure a Black Hole andthe second is to choose what gets sucked into it. This makes a lot of sense and is rooted in both precedent and logic, and there has not been an ability in the series that was self-driving.

Alright, I’m Convinced Naruto’s New Mangekyo Sharingan Will Be the Most Powerful Yet

Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 20 revealed the technique of Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan, which could be the strongest in Naruto’s franchise so far.

It is also entirely possible that Sarada’s second Mangekyo Sharingan is totally unrelated to the first, and there is precedent with Itachi given how Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu have very little overlap. However, given how overpowered this Black Hole ability is and the many parallels the series made with Obito, such astheir dream of being Hokageand their friend losing an eye to save them, there is a much bigger possibility that the chapter has already shown both of Sarada’s new techniques.

Sakura and Tsunade use the same technique during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Sarada’s Powers Are A Double-Edged Sword

The Effects Of The Power Could Hit Harder For Her

While the Mangekyo Sharingan is a rare and subsequently powerful ability, the drawback to it is that it leads to blindness the more it is used. For Itachi, it took years before he started to lose vision and Sasuke almost became blind a few weeks after activating it.Sarada is more susceptible to the cons of the Mangekyo Sharingan, as her eyesight is already weak as is. Furthermore, it seems like she cannot maintain the base Sharingan for long, given how it constantly deactivates. For those two reasons, Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan might prove to be much more dangerous to her than thought.

All hope is not lost, however, as there is a way she might be able to counter the effects of her new power. Similar to how Obito managed to remove the blinding effect of the Mangekyo Sharingan using the Hashirama Cells, which heal his eyes every time they worsen,Sarada could master the Byakugou’s Strength of a Hundred Technique, which heals all the damage a user sustains at a very rapid pace and with no hand signs needed. Tsunade demonstrated how powerful this technique was, and Sakura also mastered it. If the mission does end up becoming a success, Sarada could learn the technique from her mother, but Sakura, who is a prodigy in chakra, took a long time to master it.

Sarada Has One More Amazing Power to Show

Susanoo Is Coming to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Besides the two unique abilities that are bestowed on one who awakens the Mangekyo Sharingan, the person will also be able to use the indestructible defensive powerhouse, the Susano. In the fight between Gaara and Sasuke in the 5 Kage Summit arc, the Susano protected Sasuke from Gaara’s sand, and the same could apply in the fight against Ryu, another sand user. This ability would be a major addition to her arsenal and would make her even more of a powerhouse depending on the specifics of her Susano’s design.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortexfinally revealed Sarada’s new powers, and it could very well be one of the most interesting ones in the series. Sarada was already made important due toher resistance to Eida’s Omnipotenceand the series making her even stronger just means that she will be one of the driving forces of the narrative. The next chapter will show finally her in action, and fans cannot hold their excitement.
