Summary
Robin Lord Taylormay not be a household name, but his role inJohn Wickwas so far short of his abilities. TheJohn Wickfranchise is one of the best modern action series in a long time. Being an avid fan of Keanu Reeves, and a sucker for any movie that features futuristic, dystopian themes,John Wickwas right up my street. With that in mind, I binged all four films over a two day period just so I could fully embrace the assassin-filled reality where Wick lives.
While the movies are beautifully filmed, featuring incredible choreography and fight scenes, and Reeves delivers an outstanding performance withincreasingly fewer words in each newJohn Wickmovie, another element that I found satisfying had to be the appearance of other big name actors. Halle Berry, Ruby Rose, Laurence Fishburne, and many more. These actors were notable and had major roles in other projects from the world of sci-fi and superheros. But, one actor who stood out inGotham, wasdropped intoJohn Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellumwith no great fanfare.

10 Characters Who Must Return In John Wick 5 If Keanu Reeves Comes Back
If Keanu Reeves comes back for John Wick: Chapter 5, it should herald the return of other fan-favorite characters like Aurelio and The Bowery King.
Gotham Proves Robin Lord Taylor Deserved A Bigger Role In John Wick 3
Robin Taylor Lord Was Capable Of So Much More
Taylor played a major part in the hit seriesGotham, an alternative origin for Batman which featured a teenage Bruce Wayne. As the Penguin,Taylor showcased an incredible proficiency for transforming himself, and an incredible range as a performer. Penguin often appeared weak and unassuming in the early seasons of the show, but as time passed, he became a terrifying mob boss who was capable of dark and deranged things.
However, watching Taylor’s performance as the Administrator inJohn Wick 3reveals absolutely nothing about the actor’s considerable talents. In aJohn Wickscene that lasts less than one minute, and with Taylor speaking less than 20 words total, which are mostly one word responses, there was no room for the actor to shine. This is a terrible shame because Taylor absolutely deserves more attention and recognition for his acting prowess, andJohn Wickcould have been a great step up in his career if he’d been given a bigger part.

John Wick 4 Totally Ignored Robin Lord Taylor’s Character
The Administrator Does Not Return In The Sequel
As much as his role inParabellumwas lacking, Taylor received an even bigger snuff when it came to the sequel,John Wick: Chapter 4. The movie had an opportunity tocorrect the error and provide Taylor with a more meaningful role, even expanding on the character of the Administrator. Instead, Taylor was entirely absent from the film with literally no reference to his minor role. Ultimately, leaving the character in the dust to fade out of existence.
Yes, I get thatJohn Wick 4had a new story to tell, and spending a bunch of time on a minor side character wouldn’t make any sense. But, it wasn’t like Taylor’s character was in an awkward position to come back for the sequel. TheAdministration appears to be a central element ofthe worldwhere John Wick operates. They are a pivotal part of how messages travel, and how bounties are communicated. Taylor could have dropped back in for a minor cameo, similar to what he’d had previously, but instead, he is never seen again.

8 Big Clues John Wick Is Still Alive After Chapter 4’s Shock Ending
John Wick seems dead at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4, but the movie left several hints that the character actually faked his death and survived.
It’s Not Too Late For Robin Lord Taylor In The John Wick Franchise
Taylor Could Still Have A Bright Future In John Wick
With Wick seemingly down for the count, theJohn Wickfranchise is beginning to look elsewhere. The Continental: From the World of John Wick, has already provided a prequel story which explores how the famous hotel and gathering place for assassins became what it is in the modern movies. In addition, there is also a new movie coming soon which will serve as a spin-off starring Ana de Armas.Ballerinais a new story from that same world, and it willfurther expand the story being told across the franchise.
So, what is stopping them from making a new series that revolves around the Administration? The organization is largely shrouded in mystery. How did they rise to become a central power? How far do they get involved with the assassins? Why do they only use old school technology and paper files? With so many unanswered questions swirling around the organization, it makes perfect sense for the franchise to expand and begin telling this story. And if this were to happen, I can’t think of a better person to lead the charge thanRobin Lord Taylor, who could play a dynamic and complex role in afutureJohn Wickproject.
