Jenna Ortegais already part of theMarvel Cinematic Universe, but I would rather see her come back to the superhero realm with a new role in James Gunn’sDC Universethan to see the actress return to the MCU. TheDCU’s Chapter Onealready has several movies and TV shows announced, with Gunn revealing thatmore than half of Chapter One’s projects are still a secret, teasing how many other DC heroes and villains could still join the DCU. Any actor cast in the DCU is expected to play their character across all mediums.

That would be perfect for Jenna Ortega. The actress has already appeared in the MCU, playing a minor role in a single movie. Sadly, someone as talented asOrtega did not have a long relationship with the MCU, not even getting to play a superhero. While I understand that Marvel did not anticipate the actress becoming as popular as she did back when Ortega appeared in the MCU, I’m convinced that the star joining DC would be better than if Ortega were to play a new character in the MCU.DC has a perfect upcoming moviefor her to star.

The Star Did Not Play A Superhero

Jenna Ortega’s only MCU appearancecomes in the form of Robert Downey Jr.’s final solo movie as Tony Stark,Iron Man 3. The actress briefly appeared in the movie, withOrtega playing the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. It makes sense that Ortega did not get a huge role in the MCU, as the actress was only 10 years old back whenIron Man 3was released in 2013. While Ortega’s character herself did not do much, she was the motivation for her father’s decision to work alongside Aldrich Killian.

The Vice President saw in Extremis a way for Jenna Ortega’s character to get a new leg, as the young girl only had one. While Ortega contributes to an emotional part of the film, the actress' role is ultimately forgotten amid all the major heroes and villains that have appeared in the MCU. Ortega only had a couple of roles in her resume whenIron Man 3was released, so asking her to have had a major role in the film would have been too much, but she does deserve one now if Ortega appears in a new superhero movie.

I Want To See Jenna Ortega Finally Play A Superhero

The Actress Has Become A Rising Star

Since her brief role in the MCU,Ortega has become a rising star in Hollywoodwith roles in popular movies and TV series. Ortega appeared in some prominent roles from an early age, but it was in recent years that the actress started to shift into someone every studio would look forward to casting in one of their productions. Netflix’sYouwas perhaps the first brick on this new road in the actress' career, and I thought Ortega’s innocent but courageous Ellie had brilliant chemistry with Penn Badgley’s serial killer, Joe Goldberg.

Recasting 20 MCU Actors In Perfect Roles For James Gunn’s DC Universe

James Gunn has already cast MCU actors in the DCU, and he has teased that more will come, with many Marvel stars being perfect for DC characters.

Ortega would then appear in twoScreammovies, playing a prominent role in them. Ortega was also pitch-perfect as Astrid Deetz inBeetlejuice Beetlejuice, continuing a relationship built from her biggest role in a Tim Burton-related streak. My favorite role of the actress, and the one that made Ortega’s popularity skyrocket, is that ofWednesday Addams on Netflix’sWednesday. The series has become a worldwide sensation, with a second season now in production. AfterWednesdayand her other high-profile projects, Ortega is now a major draw, and I think that playing a major hero in the DC Universe suits her.

Teen Titans (DCU)

Jenna Ortega’s Perfect Superhero Role Is In The DCU, Not The MCU

A Superhero Team Is Reportedly Coming To The DCU

While Ortega could very well end up playing an MCU superhero, as other Marvel actors have been recast in the franchise after initially playing minor roles, I think that her ideal superhero rests at DC instead.Jenna Ortega would be perfect to serve as Raven, one of the most important members of the Teen Titans. Given how hell Ortega played a darker character who is intelligent but not that well-versed when it comes to the emotional side of things, she would be able to make Raven compelling like she is in the comics.

James Gunn has yet to confirm that Raven and the rest of the Teen Titans are coming to the new DC Universe. However, aTeen Titans movie is reportedly in the works, withSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowwriter Ana Nogueira penning the script. Since the team’s biggest enemy, Deathstroke, is also reportedly getting a movie of his own, it seems like the superhero squad is really coming to the big screen in the future. I’m certain thatJenna Ortegacould easily be one of the stars to anchor a Teen Titans movie, with Raven being the superhero role she deserves.
