TheShattered SpaceDLC forStarfielddoes a lot to expand upon the lore surrounding House Va’ruun, butfor those players who want to feel even more immersed when walking around the faction’s capital city of Dazra, this mod is necessary. One of the more visually diverse locations inStarfield, Dazra is a strange mixture ofthe aesthetic seen inThe Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowindand traditional sci-fi stories likeBattlestar GalacticaandStar Trek. Yet the community has taken it a step further by significantly improving upon the strange city’s lighting.
Over on Nexus Mods, creatorRabbitDoesStuffshared their impressive"Rabbit’s Real Lights Dazra" mod which completely overhauls the lighting in the titular city, making it look even more cinematic than before. The add-on includes over 400 “hand-placed lighting sources” and removes any unrealistic lights to make the capital shine brighter than ever. It also includes a few adjustments that fix broken light sources and add lights to missing locations, ensuring that thoseStarfieldplayers who like to hang around the shadows can do so with style.

Dazra Could Do With A Lighting Overhaul
Shattered Spacewent a long way to providingStarfieldfans with more of the content they’ve come to love and one of the most appreciated additions is Dazra. The moody city, which serves as the headquarters of the sinister House Va’ruun, is unlike any other location in the game thanks to its dark alleyways, traditional architecture, and ominous atmosphere. Having said that, the lighting does leave much to be desired especially when so much of Dazra is necessarily lit up.
It’s certainly not difficult to appreciate without the mod butusing “Rabbit’s Real Lights Dazra” does make the city look significantly more moody. Lighting is one of the most effective ways of evoking atmosphere in a video game so it’s great that a talented modder has provided fans with a way to turnthe expansion’s best additioninto a visual showstopper. It’s a pity that the rest ofthe DLC left the community coldbut at the very least, it’s good to emphasize its strengths.

Has Shattered Space Achieved Starfield’s Full Potential?
Despite Bethesda’s best effort, Starfield’s Shattered Space was met with a barrage of criticism, but it may be a turning point for the sci-fi RPG.
Screen Rant’s Take: Dazra Is Starfield’s Best City
It’s Aesthetic Is Killer
Shattered Spacemay not have been enough to convert naysayersbut the expansion is worth playing for fans who want a glimpse back into the glory days of Bethesda. I believe Dazra is one of the most visually impressive cities inStarfieldand while it may not have the masses of content of New Atlantis, it more than makes up for that with its unique appearance.Shattered Spacewon’t be for everyone, but Dazra is a city every Bethesda fan should experience at least once.
