Though details are still scarce on the X-Force’s new strongman hero,Tank, putting him in the same power class as Ben Grimm makes the team’s “bruiser” a major threat moving forward. The Thing is one of Marvel’s strongest heroeswhen at his full strength, so deeming Tank on par with the iconic Fantastic Four hero is a serious show of faith in the character. Along with The Thing’s hard orange rock skin and brute strength, Tank has a red armor exterior matching the X-Force’s new suits that could have been designed by Forge to boost his invulnerable mutant power-set.
How Fantastic Four’s Thing Finally Beat Hulk in Marvel Lore
Fans may think that Fantastic Four’s Thing could never match Hulk, but that’s far from the case. Here’s how the Thing finally beat Hulk in Marvel lore
It was initially thought that Tank was a reinvigorated version of ayoung mutant seen briefly inIronheart. However, his designated power-set seems to disprove that theory. Another possibility is Tank being X-Men hero Colossus under a new name, with a new exterior designed by Forge; the Russian Systema being first on Tank’s list of known martial arts skills may also point to that. However, it is also just as likely that Tank’s appearance inX-Force#1 is his Marvel debut. With his origin still a mystery, Tank has become one ofX-Force’smost intriguing characters.

The stats from Sage label Tank as the X-Force’s bruiser, andJuggernaut takes on the same role inX-Men.Though Tank may or may not actually be an all-new character introduced to X-Men lore, the huge red-armored mutant with a fresh design and codename can still be considered one of Marvel’s newest powerhouse heroes.
