WARNING: SPOILERS FOR BERSERK MANGA
Summary
Berserkis filled with superbly epic artwork, and a stunning piece offan artstylishly recreates one of its best moments, featuringGuts andNosferatu Zodd, yet to be shown in an anime. The late and great author Kenato Miura’s incredible art style has made it difficult for an anime to adaptBerserk’s manga. However, talented fans have successfully recreated some of the story’s most exciting scenes that mirror the emotional intensity the series is known for.
During the Millennium Falcon Arc, Guts and his friends find themselves in the large city of Vritannis as a siege of Kushan Warriors led by Ganishka starts to attack. It’s a particularly brutal onslaught partially led by a powerful wizard named Daiba, who uses elemental magic to form a huge avatar of the army leader. It would takea brief team-up between Guts and Zoddto defeat it.

The Kushan Empire and the new demonic Band of the Hawk had been growing tensions since Griffith was resurrected and built an army. Zodd, along with other demons loyal to Griffith, began battling the Kushans, but to deal dramatic damage to a common foe, Zodd flew Guts through the leader of the enemy forces.Fan art by concept designer DONillustrated this moment beautifully, and it was shared onRedditby user Silverghost91.
The Talents Of Fan Artists Fly Higher Than Zodd
Kentaro Miura Wrote and Illustrated the First 364 Chapters ofBerserk
More of DON’s incredible artist talents can be witnessed on theirArtstationprofile, which includes more awe-inspiringBerserkartwork as well as many eye-catching original pieces. Their multiple pieces ofBerserkfan art capture the imposing scale and brilliant use of spaceto create grandiose imagery that feels incredibly appropriate with Kentaro Miura’s larger-than-life characters. Many artists struggle to accomplish this, including those who’ve chosen tocontinueBerserk’s manga.
The fan art of Guts and Zodd features clashing red, black, and white colors that masterfully accentuate each other. Each character features intense expressions at the height of their aerial attack that only the two, who were once brutal enemies, could execute. Both have clashed a couple of times in the series, which made their team-up inBerserkchapter #277 gratifying, especially with the artwork depicting the scene in question.

Berserk Fan Project is an Underappreciated Gem More Fans Should See
With numerous Berserk fan anime adaptations, one especially pure take on the manga classic deserves more exposure to viewers.
Miura’s Artistic Talents Are Incredibly Difficult To Replicate
Many of theBerserkmanga’s best panelsare filled with a ludicrous amount of detail and shading that very few manga series employ. While several anime series have attempted to adapt the manga, with varying degrees of success, many of the series' most significant and visually pleasing moments have yet to be animated. Thankfully, creative and talented artists like DON have given fans beautiful alternative versions of thoseBerserkmoments to enjoy while waiting for a faithful adaptation.
