Safe to say, the announcement has taken fans by storm, as even thoughJujutsu Kaisen’sending seemed to be inevitably closefor quite some time, fans surely expected the series to go on for at least a little longer after the conclusion of the final battle against Sukuna.

The mini-program also revealed anew message from Gege Akutamion the series' quickly approaching ending thanking fans for their support. The message roughly translates to:
The story will end in 5 chapters. I was able to wrap up the story the way that I wished to thanks to the support and help. Thank you!!

I am working diligently on the final chapter to make it worthy (hopefully) of the support that so many people have given to Jujutsu Kaisen.
With that, everyone!! I humbly ask for your forgiveness!!
While the broadcast also contained good news with thereturn ofHunter X Hunterwith new chapters, fans ofJujutsu Kaisenworldwide are understandably in turmoil, as the long-anticipated conclusion of the hit series is almost upon them. Seeing as there are six weeks until the release of the final chapter,Jujutus Kaisenwill likely go on one last break amidst this final stretch of the story, but other than that, the upcoming chapters are sure to be a roller-coaster ride week after week as the climactic battle at Shinjuku finally comes to a close.

As of the latest release, which is chapter #266,Yuji’s battle against Sukunastill seemed far from finished, which is why the news of the series' ending came as such a surprise. The current battle against Sukuna has been raging for over forty chapters, over the course of which many sorcerers have tried their hand against the King of Sorcerers only to be defeated. As such, Sukuna’s defeat felt like a distant possibility for the longest time.
However, the fact thatJujutsu Kaisenwill be ending in a mere five chapters confirms that Sukuna’s defeat is indeed on the horizon, and it may in fact be Yuji who brings about Sukuna’s downfall after all.Yuji has already threatened to kill Sukunaand the looming end of the series suggests his threat was not an empty one after all. Nonetheless, there are still many loose threads left to wrap up, and it will be interesting to see how Gege Akutami handles the finale of the series.
