Marvel’sDaredevilhas a costume that hasn’t changed much since the character’s inception over 60 years ago, with most of Matt Murdock’s superhero suits usually keeping in line with his signature red bodysuit and horned helmet design. But in a new cosplay that takes cues from a recent comic run that brought the character to his knees,Daredevil gets a live-action “King Daredevil” redesign that needs to make its way into the MCU as soon as possible.
A new live-action Daredevil design shared on Instagram by Aegidius (@aegidiusdesigns), this talented cosplayer works as a “Professional Costume and Prop Maker” as well as a “3D Modeling Artist,” with these invaluable skills being vital when creating the comic-accurate designs Aegidius is known for.

Previously dressing as a moretraditional-looking version of Daredevil, Aegidius has also worn a 90s-era Gambit costume, aDeadpool and Wolverine-inspired Wolverine look, and even a fiery iteration of Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider, with each new cosplay design Aegidius posts showing off the creativity and dedication needed to make these outfits work in the real world.

A fresh but familiar redesign given to Matt Murdock inChip Zdarsky’s 2022Daredevilseries,this new bearded and hooded look reflected Matt’s evolution into a darker and more determined vigilante, with his involvement with the Hand, the Fist, and his crime-fighting partner in the redemption-seeking Elektra weighing heavily on Daredevil’s shoulders in a way that affected him not just internally but externally as well. Conceptualized and then illustrated by Marco Checchetto, this suit skewed closer to a ninja-like design while adding some signature Daredevil elements that rang true to the character and gave him an edge not seen before.
Daredevil: Born Again Teases Matt’s New Suit With a Quiet Marvel Comics Promo
Daredevil’s epic costume for his new MCU series gets promoted in the comics as variant covers for Marvel Comics showcase his updated look.
Bathed in crimson light that makes this already blood-red costume pop, Aegidius’ King Daredevil gives Matt a hood and scarf that obscures his face, with some light armor giving way to a black body suit, black forearms wraps, and black ninja pants that help to make Aegidius’ Daredevil look more formidable than ever. Giving fans a close-up in the next image that highlights the details of Aegidius’ costume, Aegidius’ more brooding demeanor works well here, withthe final image showing a full body image of King Daredevil as he stands with a red fist clenching his weapon, ready for anything.
