Dan Harmon’s hit animated comedyKrapopolisis already a crown jewel in Fox’s Animation Domination slate, and the series is renewed for a third season. Debuting in 2023, theRick and Mortycreator’s follow-up series concerns Tyrannis (Richard Ayoade), the son of a powerful goddess who is tasked with running one of the first human civilizations. Like Harmon’s other shows,Krapopolisputs a one-of-a-kind spin on the classic animated family sitcom, and adds an irreverent flare not found in contemporaries likeThe SimpsonsandFamily Guy.

Considering the popularity ofHarmon’s long-runningRick and Mortyseries, it comes as no surprise that Fox was eager to renewKrapopolisafter it anchored the network’s strike-shortened 2023 fall slate. As such,Krapopoliswas quickly picked up for not one, but two additional seasons during its debut run. With its open-ended premise, and lovably despicable characters,Krapopolisis the type of series that could run for as long as Fox wants to keep it on the air. Regardless, Fox has ordered a third season and the future of the burgeoning series is bright.

Why Krapopolis Looks So Different From Rick & Morty

Krapopolis is the newest series created by Dan Harmon, and while it has been compared to Rick and Morty a lot, its art style looks quite different.

Krapopolis Season 3 Is Confirmed

Fox Quickly Ordered A Third Season Of Krapopolis

A two-season renewal for a brand-new series is practically unheard of, but Dan Harmon’s track record was enough to convince Fox that the investment would be worth the risk

Though the debut of season 2 is still very fresh, viewers won’t have to wait to learn the fate ofKrapopolisseason 3. That’s becauseFox renewedKrapopolisseason 3before season 1 even began. A two-season renewal for a brand-new series is practically unheard of, but Dan Harmon’s track record was enough to convince Fox that the investment would be worth the risk. Fortunately, the network’s gamble was proven correct as season 1 ofKrapopolisshattered viewership records and helped carry Fox through the strike-affected 2023 fall season.

Krapopolisseason 2 debuted on June 29, 2025.

However, the third season renewal does put a tremendous amount of pressure onKrapopolisseason 2to succeed with viewers, since work is presumably already underway on season 3. On the other hand, the quick renewal could have been a clever business decision to avoid the delays that have kept Harmon’sRick and Mortyon a strange release schedule. Animated shows take much longer to produce compared to live-action, but networks like Fox need their shows to arrive at a prompt and consistent yearly clip.

Krapopolis Season 3 Cast Details

Expect The Familiar Cast To Return In Season 3

Animated comedies likeKrapopolisrely on a cast of recurring characters that doesn’t change from season to season. As such, the familiar voice cast from the first two seasons ofKrapopoliswill be back to play their charactersonce again. Richard Ayoade will be back as the human leader of Krapopolis, Tyrannis, and he’ll be joined by Matt Berry as his father, Shlub. Likewise, Pam Murphy will be back as Tyrannis' sister, Stupendous, while Duncan Trussell will reprise his role as Hippocampus, Tyrannis' brother. Finally, it’s expected that Hannah Waddingham will once again voice the role of Deliria, Tyrannis' mother.

The series also employs a host of guest stars from week to week, but it’s impossible to guess who those characters will be. Furthermore, there are supporting characters beyond Tyrannis and his family, and season 2 will help to sort out which secondary characters will continue to play a large part going forward.

Krapopolis Season 3 Story Details

More Ancient Mythical Hijinks Are Expected

The plots of each episode ofKrapopolisare typically disconnected, and there’s little that carries over from week to week. With that in mind, it’s nearly impossible to guess what will happen in season 3 since the plots of season 2 will probably have no effect on future tales. However, it’s expected that Tyrannis will continue to chafe against his parents' interference in his attempts to rule Krapopolis, and their status as gods makes them incapable of sympathizing with their mere mortal subjects.

One storyline that may carry over into season 3 is Deliria’s pastand why she was kicked off of Mt. Olympus. Throughout the first season, she artfully dodged explaining why she was ostracized from her fellow gods, and season three could finally answer that question. All that assumes that season 2 ofKrapopoliswon’t answer that question first. Season 3 will also likely continueintroducing new godsas well, and there are well over 100 gods that have been planned for the series.
