What This Means For The Legally Blonde Prequel

Elle Has A Retro Setting

The firstLegally Blondemovie follows Witherspoon’s titular character as she follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School in an attempt to win him back, having been told she was too blonde for his taste. Whileher journey to overcome stereotypesdidn’t end in her becoming Mrs. Warner Huntington III, Elle was able to uncover her unique potential as a lawyer in the process. The first movie was set in an unspecified modern time, but the first-look image seems to indicate thatEllewill be amodern show set in the ’90s.

Legally Blonde has the exact same plot as this legal fish-out-of-water comedy from a decade earlier starring Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei.

Despite being a fashionable and optimistic young woman, not everyone likes Elle. AsElle’s confirmed cast and characterssuggest, the titular character’s time at high school isn’t short of haters and conflicts. In addition to Scott and Raphael, Gabrielle Policano will play an “anti-Elle Woods” character named Liz with Chandler Kinney playing as a senior who doesn’t like Elle. Meanwhile, Jacob Moskovitz will play Miles, a star athlete who’s charmed by the protagonist.

Our Take On Legally Blonde Prequel

Elle’s Story Has Always Been Inspiring At Core

Being passionately liked can backfire, and sometimes, a person attracts hate just by being themselves. As seen in the first-look image, Lexi Minetree embraces Elle’s love for the color pink in the prequel with an aesthetic that draws similarities toReese Witherspoon’s iconic rolein the firstLegally Blondemovie. Combining the announced cast and character list, it seems thatshe might be a natural target in high school.

However, Elle isn’t about hiding the side of herself that makes her who she is or changing herself to please others. She might break down in tears and feel defeated during a difficult time, but one thing she never does is allow the negative experiences to change her. WithEllebringing back the iconic character, the upcoming prequel is bound to tell a story about perseverance and courage.
