Minneapolis is too small of a city to host such a show, sincethe odds of the cast knowing or knowing of each other is high. When season 8 cast member Alex was interviewed by show host Vanessa Lachey, he spoke to this fact. Vanessa asked Alex what about living in Minneapolis made him struggle with finding"the one.“His response underscores that a bigger city would have been better for the location.
“It’s such a small community, it’s not a major city, but it’s also not a small town, so you kind of see the same people over and over, and it’s a small bar scene.”
