Elisabeth Moss, who played Peggy Olson inMad Men, revealed whether she would return for a revival of the critically acclaimed series. The show, which aired on AMC from 2007 to 2015, follows the employees of an advertising firm in 1960s New York. The main character in the series is Don Draper, who Jon Hamm plays, with Peggy starting as his assistant who eventually rises within the company. In addition to Moss and Hamm, thecast ofMad Menincludes John Slattery, January Jones, Vincent Kartheiser, and Kiernan Shipka.
Appearing on the talk showWatch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen,Moss reveals that she would instantly say yes to reprising her role in aMad Menrevival. She admits that she’s not an actor who ever desires to move on from her favorite roles. Since she believesMad Menis one of the best projects she’s ever worked on, she would not hesitate to return for a revival of the series. Read Moss' full comments and watch the interview clip below:

I would never say, “No,” to anything like that. I’m not one of those people that’s like, “I want to move on and do….” Mad Men is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done and will ever do. I would be super happy to play that character again. I loved playing her.
Even though she starts as Don Draper’s assistant at the beginning of the series, by theend ofMad Men, Moss' character is one of the most valuable people on the creative team at the advertising firm. However, not all her time working in advertising was positive throughout the series,Peggy gets a very happy ending in the series finale. Not only is she thriving in her career, but she also confesses her love and starts a relationship with her coworker, Stan Rizzo. Therefore, a potentialMad Menrevival could explore what happens to Peggy’s career and relationship.

While Moss would love to reprise her role, Hamm argued that there is no more story to tell and believes the ending of the show was very satisfying.
However, while a lot of shows are being brought back for revivals in the era of streaming, some viewers firmly believe thatMad Mendoesn’t need a revival. In fact, even Hamm claimed that he wouldn’t be very interested in starring in aMad Menrevival series during an actor roundtable forThe Hollywood Reporterin 2024. While Moss would love to reprise her role, Hamm argued that there is no more story to tell and believes the ending of the show was very satisfying. Based on Hamm’s comments,it doesn’t seem like aMad Menrevival is likely.
Even though Peggy Olson was one of the best characters inevery season ofMad Men, I believe she received an amazing ending and doesn’t need to return in a potential revival series. In fact,I would side with Hamm and argue that aMad Menrevival series is unnecessaryand would only risk tarnishing the legacy of the original show. In my opinion, the AMC series received a perfect ending, which is rare for television shows. Because of this, I would be very skeptical if aMad Menrevival series was ever announced.
