Summary

My Hero Academiais filled with crucial lessons for viewers, such as the importance of hard work, standing up against evil, and, arguably most importantly, helping those who need it.One of the series' most pivotal themes is how one small positive action towards another can make a monumental difference in the trajectory of their life.A detail at the end of the manga seriesproves this integral point even further, bringing one character’s arc full circle.

Chapters #425 and #429 ofMy Hero Academiafeatured a mysterious new and unnamed character with a very difficult past. Due to his Quirk, he was neglected and cast aside by his own family.

Mysterious boy from My Hero Academia

In an effort to prevent their Quirk from running rampant, hisfamily sewed his mouth shut and locked him in a basement. This character began to suffer alone, left behind by the family members who were supposed to love and care for him, and seemed to be headed down a dangerous path similar to Tomura Shigaraki’s.

The Boy Ends Up at School, Proving That a Small Act of Kindness Changed His Life

This boy’s experiences were pitiful and tragic, and definitelycould haveformed the beginnings of a villain origin story. However, an old woman came along and took note of his suffering, offering him the comforting words, “you’ll be just fine… because Granny is here to help.” Granny is not a new character and actually appeared very early on in the series. She had encountered an abandoned child with a deadly, out of control Quirk once before, but left him alone for someone else to help. That person was unfortunately Tomura Shigaraki, andher refusal to help him came at a great cost.

Fans were delighted to see this"Granny" character receive a redemption arcand a second chance to help someone struggling find a better path. As noticed by some fans, Horikoshi added a small detail in the final chapter that seems to prove that the boy did not turn to evil ways and that Granny’s efforts to aid him paid off well. In the image, he is in Midoriya’s class at U.A. High, and even seems to be friends with Kota. Past scars around his mouth are visible in the art, further convincing fans that this is definitely the same boy from before.

My Hero Academia’s Ending Explained - What Happens in the Manga’s Finale?

Kohei Horikoshi’s superhero tale has ended, with an emotional finale that will leave fans discussing for a long time.

The Boy’s Journey Teaches a Valuable Lesson That Appears Frequently in the Series

His Story Shows How Helping Others Who Are in Need Can Completely Change Their Lives

It is truly beautiful to see how just one simple offer of assistance can completely improve a person’s life. Had the boy been left alone any longer, he could have been taken in by a villain and trained in evil, similar to Shigaraki, but thanks to Granny’s kindheartedness, lingering guilt from not helping Shigaraki, and refusal to make the same mistake twice, this character not only was able to live a normal life, butis also studying to become a hero.

With a small detail in one panel, Kohei Horikoshi was able to perfectly bring to a conclusion his story and its underlying message:one person’s actions can be the catalyst that sparks a tremendous positive change. While apparently secondary, this story was perhaps the most important one thatMy Hero Academiatold, and the series' finale expresses this valuable message perfectly.
