Summary
Izuku Midoriya (akaDeku) may have been given access to several powerful and helpful Quirks, but the end of theMy Hero Academiastory focused on his greatest ability, which he wielded before gaining One For All from All Might. Several incredible battles, including more than a couple involving the conniving villain All For One, littered the final war arc, and theirvictory cost Midoriya his arms and superpowers, but it didn’t strip away his most extraordinary skill.
With the help of his friends and their fantastic powers, some of themost powerful Quirks inMy Hero Academia, Deku was able to regenerate his arms and land the last sky-clearing punch that put an end to All For One for good. The fight forced Deku to sacrifice his Quirks to prevail, meaning he wouldn’t be the Pro Hero many fans assumed he would become.
Eight years later, most members of Class 1-A used their experience and Quirks to become Pro Heroes and help make the world a better place, and while Deku no longer has his Quirks, his job as a teacher at UA High has him helping in a different way. His obsession with dissecting Quirk’s abilities andthe gift of wanting to help others that All Might saw in Midoriya all those years ago make him the perfect teacherto help new generations.
Deku’s Desire To Help Others Wasn’t A Quirk, It Was Better

My Hero Academia’s author, Kohei Horikoshi, introduces Midoriya as a boy who dreamed of becoming a Pro Hero and helping save lives like his idol, All Might. Unfortunately, he was born without a Quirk of his own. Fans are more than aware of the story of how the boy gained the ability to use several amazing Quirks, but several fan theories alwayssuspected that Deku might have been lied to and secretly had a Quirkthat would reveal itself by the series' end, which ended up not being the case. Izuku Midoriya didn’t need an actual Quirk to help people.
From the first to the last arc, Deku consistently demonstrated how willing he was to risk his well-being to help others in need. Even before he received OFA from All Might, he rushed into danger to help free Bakugo from a Sledge-Quirk-using villain. Then again, he gave away his powers to help save Tomura Shigaraki from All From One near the story’s end. While the Quirks linked to One For All were necessary to help defeat the villains,Midoriya’s altruism earned him his powers, his friends, and his role as a teacherat one of the world’s greatest Hero schools.

But it was Deku’s desire to help others that not only helped reshape the super-powered society for his generation and future generations ofMy Hero Academia’s heroes.
