As announced in the August 2024 Nintendo Partner Direct, the first two games in the classicMySimsseries are releasing simultaneously as a bundle on Nintendo Switch. A spin-off series ofThe Sims, theMySimsgames were originally released for the Wii and Nintendo DS, with the first game, simply titledMySims, being released in 2007. Since the release of the last game in the series,MySimsSkyHeroes, in 2010, there haven’t been any further entries in the series, but over a decade later, the original two games are getting a re-release.
While theMySimsrelease on Switch was previously leakedbefore the game’s official announcement, fans of the series can still look forward to having the first two games playable on a modern console – outside later ports to Microsoft Windows and mobile platforms, the firstMySimshas only ever been released for the Wii and DS, andMySims Kingdomwas never ported to other platforms at all. Taking on a more relaxed style of gameplay than the mainSimsseries, theMySimsbundle is set to be one of the final releases for the Nintendo Switch, before thereveal of Nintendo’s next console.

Forget The Sims 5, It’s Time For This Underrated Spinoff To Return
The Sims 4 gets a lot of attention, and The Sims 5 feels far away, but there’s still a spinoff that deserves a revamp, possibly starting a new series.
MySims: Cozy Bundle Release Date And What’s Included
MySims: Cozy Bundle Releases July 23, 2025
TheMySims: Cozy Bundleis set for a “Retro Re-release” on August 23, 2025, and willinclude both the originalMySimsandMySims Kingdomfor $39.99 USD. The bundle will release both digitally, on the Nintendo eShop, and physically at select retailers like GameStop or Best Buy, and is currently open for preorders. Notably, the two games that make up the bundle cannot be purchased separately, making the bundle the only option for playing either of the twoMySimsgames included in it, and no plans for separating the two games have been announced for the Nintendo Switch.
The first game in the bundle,MySims, was the original game in the series, a spin-off ofThe Simsdeveloped exclusively for the Wii and Nintendo DS. Differentiating itself from the original series,MySimsfeatured a total lack of any “survival” mechanics, removing the need for players to maintain meters for hunger or sleep, and focused much more heavily on having the player play as a single character, rather than creating multiple. In another twist on the original series, the game also simplified building, with its crafting system operating on a blueprint system rather than the main series' virtual catalog.

MySimsKingdom, the second game included in the bundle, was the first sequel toMySims, and took on a medieval/fantasy theme, but otherwise featured gameplay similar to the first game. Like the original,Kingdomretains some simplified building mechanics, and tasks players with doing a variety of tasks for NPCs to gain new items and outfits. UnlikeMySims, though,Kingdomtakes place across several different islands, with new islands unlocking for the player as they advance through the game and increase the kingdom’s happiness by completing tasks.
Notably, although there are several otherMySimsgames, likeMySims PartyandMySimsRacing, none of them are included in theCozyBundle. Presumably, this is because none of the otherMySimsgames that were released after the first two follow the same format, and are instead more like spin-offs of theMySimsseries, itself already a spin-off ofThe Sims. As a result,MySimsandMySimsKingdomare the only two games from the series to be included in the bundle, and the only two that have been announced for a port to the Nintendo Switch.

10 Features The Sims 5 Desperately Needs At Launch
When the Sims 4 launched, there were complaints about absent features. Here’s what the Sims 5 needs to include to avoid repeating that situation.
New Features In MySims: Cozy Bundle
The Cozy Bundle Has Not Been Advertised To Include New Features
As a “Retro Re-release”, it seems that theCozy Bundlewill be making minimal changes to the original games, and therefore has not been advertised to include any new features besides the ability to swap between the two games included in it. Outside some potential graphical improvements, theCozyBundletherefore seems like it will be a straightforward port of the first two gamesin theMySimsseries, and isn’t likely to include any major new features or gameplay changes. While new details might be announced closer to release, no additional features have currently been promised.
One interesting factor regarding theCozy Bundle, however, is which versions of the originalMySimsgames will be included - while the original releases on Wii and DS were mostly similar, there were several notable differences between them, usually in terms of the DS version having more limited features. The firstMySims, for example, had 80 different characters on the Wii version, and only 30 for the DS version, while the DS version ofMySims Kingdomhad a significantly different story and cast of characters.
Since the Switch can’t exactly replicate the dual screens of the DS, the Wii versions of the game are a more natural fit for the console - especially since the Switch’s gyro controls would be able to emulate the motion controls of the Wii, as has already been seen with games like thedefinitiveThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
As a port to a more powerful and modern system,it’s far more likely that the versions included in theCozyBundlewill be the less limited Wii versions of each game, as even the Switch’s aging hardware should be more than enough to run games from multiple console generations ago. While not explicitly confirmed in the trailer or on the game’s Nintendo eShop page, footage and screenshots more heavily resemble the Wii versions, so it’s generally far more likely that the bundle will not include the DS versions of each game.
Releasing on July 08, 2025, theMySims: Cozy Bundlewill include the first two games in the series. Although the bundle seems to include minimal new features, fans of the original game can still be excited about faithful ports of games that were previously stuck on past-gen devices, especially as the bundle is likely to be one of the last releases for the Switch before Nintendo’s next major console releases. While it may not mark a revival for the series, theMySims: Cozy Bundlewill make the first two games significantly more accessible.
