ThePoweruniverse is set to introduce its fourth spinoff following the main show, and while I’m happy Tommy and Ghost will share the spotlight, it’s not the reunion I wanted. After an impressive six seasons,Powerwrapped up its main story, and despite not everyone being a fan of the conclusion, the franchise continued its narrative through multiple spinoffs. Kanan was given a prequel series due to the character’s popularity, while both Tariq and Tommy starred in their own shows; however, bothPower Book: GhostandForceare endingto make way for a new series,Power: Origins.
Originswill focus on Tommy and Ghost’s lives before the events of the original series, meaning the franchise’s two most popular characters will once again be the focal point of the franchise. It’s a bit of a gamble canceling two popular shows to make way for a new one, but I’m confident thatPower’s new spinoff will be goodand act as a solid replacement. It will allow Tommy to transition from one spinoff to another, while Ghost will essentially replace Tariq, but despite the solid concept, I still wish Tommy and Ghost were given a different kind of reunion.

Ghost & Tommy’s Power Prequel Is A Great Way To Expand Their Relationship
Power: Origins Will Explore Tommy & Ghost’s History Before The Main Show
While Tommy and Ghost’s reunion may not be exactly the one I’d hoped for, it still has a lot of potential as it can expand the characters' relationships. Their friendship duringPower’s six seasons was tested on numerous occasions, as the two fell out and turned on one another several times, yet always found a way to patch things up. They were great enemies and even better friends, making them extremely dangerous whenever they were on the same page, which is part of the reason they’re both among thePowerfranchise’s best characters.

Power Book V: Origins
TBA
Although their adult friendship was complicated, their bond clearly goes back a long way, andOriginscan fully explore this. Even if the spinoff doesn’t go back to when they first met, seeing them get into the drug game together and overcome some major obstacles in their younger years sounds like great entertainment.Originsoffers the perfect opportunity to highlight why they have so much respect for each other, alongside why Tommy is sad to lose Ghost even after everything they’ve been through, and I can’t wait to see their relationship be expanded in the prequel.
Power: Origins Won’t Give Omari Hardwick & Joseph Sikora A Proper Reunion
The Actors Look Unlikely To Reprise Their Roles In The Upcoming Spinoff
Even though Tommy and Ghost will be the two protagonists ofPower: Origins, it won’t give Joseph Sikora and Omari Hardwick a proper reunion. Given the spinoff is set before the events of the main show,Originswill likely take place while the duo are teenagers or young adults, indicating that Sikora and Hardwick won’t reprise their roles. Sikora has been heavily involved in the franchise for over a decade, appearing in all six seasons of the main show alongside two, soon to be three, seasons ofForce, suggesting a break may be well needed for him.
On the flip side, Hardwick hasn’t been a regular since season 6 in 2020, making a return more welcome for him. Unfortunately, the two actors are unlikely to share the screen anytime soon though, as the spinoff will likely cast new additions to the franchise to play the younger versions of Ghost and Tommy.Power Book III: Raising Kananalready did this, as Mekai Curtis was cast as a younger Kanan, who was originally played by 50 Cent in the main show. Therefore, Hardwick and Sikora will almost certainly be absent for the majority of the spinoff.

Power Book III: Raising Kananwill continue and has been renewed for a fourth season.
Originsmay opt to include some flashforward scenes to get the duo involved since they were at the heart of some ofPower’s best episodes. Still, this isn’t the reunion I want to see when it comes to the franchise’s most iconic duo, and while I’m still excited about the spinoff, I hopePowerfinds a way to bring Tommy and Ghost back on a more permanent basis.
Why Tommy & Ghost Need To Reunite Despite Power Season 6’s Storyline
Tommy & Ghost’s Friendship Was One Of The Most Compelling Parts Of The Power Franchise
Season 6’s final few episodes focused on Ghost’s death and finding out who his killer is, making a reunion between Tommy and Ghost difficult, but it still needs to happen. The duo already had a heartfelt goodbye, as Tommy was the one to find Ghost after he was shot, which is easily among some of my favorite scenes in the entire show. However, the characters are still fan favorites among the community, hence why Tommy’s spinoff has had such a good reception, and their story together doesn’t quite feel over, even after season 6.
7 Power Characters That Deserve Their Own Spinoffs
The Power universe has continued to expand through spinoffs following the conclusion of the main show, and several characters deserve a solo series.
Many people were unhappy with how Ghost’s death was handled, making the overall desire to see Hardwick and Sikora share a screen even greater.Poweralso remains a huge draw even a decade after it began with the spinoffs pulling strong viewership numbers, andGhost returning to team up with Tommy once more would be its biggest story in years. Therefore, even if it means retconningPower’s most shocking death, the franchise should pull out all the stops to have these two reunite, as it’s something fans have been waiting years for, and I’d personally love to see it.
How A Tommy & Ghost Reunion Could Still Happen
A New Spinoff Or Power Season 7 Could Bring Back Ghost
With Ghost supposedly dead in thePoweruniverse, a reunion may look almost impossible, but the franchise could still pull it off. Alongside potential flashforward scenes inOrigins, Ghost could appear as a hallucination inForce’s final season, which would allow Sikora and Hardwick to share the screen once more. However, the best possible outcome would be to reveal that Ghost faked his death or secretly survived his injuries, allowing a return to happen. Enough time has passed for this not to feel like a cheap twist, and audiences have expressed interest in this theory, making it possible.
Whether it was a new spinoff focusing on Ghost and Tommy’s reunion, or an outright season 7 of the main show, revealing that Ghost is still alive would be a massive moment for the franchise.
I’m confident that the response to Ghost actually being alive would be more positive than negative, adding to the potential of Hardwick’s return. Whether it was a new spinoff focusing on Ghost and Tommy’s reunion, or an outright season 7 of the main show, revealing that Ghost is still alive would be a massive moment for the franchise, and one I’m still desperately holding out hope for. WithPowermaintaining its popularity,a modern story centering around Ghost and Tommy would be incredible, and if Hardwick and Sikora are both interested, I need to see them together one more time.
