From the appearance of the spaceship to the skinned bodies found by Dutch’s team, there are certainly hints of where the story is going. The sequel was developed under the codenameSkulls, anddirector Dan Trachtenberg’s original plan (viaX/Twitter) was to release the film with zero mention ofPredatorin the trailers or marketing. The studio should have stuck with Trachtenberg’s plan, which surely would have boostedPrey’sprofile even further.

Alas, that wasn’t to be, but thankfullyPreyproved a worthy follow-up that didn’t need any gimmicks to draw in audiences.
