WithSecret Levelofficially renewed for a second season, Prime Video’s anthology show will adapt plenty more video games, and there are some franchises we’re desperate to see. AlthoughSecret Leveldidn’t nail every episode, there were several interesting takes on popular IPs that got the internet talking and proved the series was worth a watch. The nature of the project meant people were always going to be divided about what episodes they enjoyed, and which ones fell flat, but the project was still a hit and once again highlighted that the streaming platform is competent in producing gaming adaptations.

Secret Levelcapitalized on the success of Prime Video’s Fallout, which was one of the biggest shows of the year, and used this momentum to capture audiences interested in gaming. The anthology series wasn’t quite able to reach those same heights, but bringing fan-favorite characters into a televised format and expanding the lore of interesting universes has been a breath of fresh air. As a result, audiences will undoubtedly be excited to see some new franchises get the same treatment, and there are many games that deserve a chance to feature in season 2.

10Astro Bot

2024’s Game Of The Year Could Produce A Better PlayStation Episode Than “Fulfillment”

Astro Botwas crownedGame of the Year at the 2024 Game Awards, and the charming platformer series could provide a wholesome episode forSecret Levelseason 2.Prime Video’s show had a nice mix of serious and more light-hearted episodes, andAstro Botdefinitely fits the latter. Not only would an episode about these cute robots give them more personality, but it could also be the homage to PlayStation that “Playtime: Fulfillment” was supposed to be.

Is Secret Level Connected To Love, Death & Robots?

Secret Level has a lot of similarities with animated anthology Love, Death & Robots, and the two shows share a surprisingly close connection.

Rather than have iconic Sony characters play almost meaningless roles as they did in season 1, they could be integrated in a more relaxed way through anAstro Botepisode, which would avoid viewers becoming disappointed. The game has such a vibrant art style alongside lots of fun mechanics and gimmicks, meaning combining these elements with some PlayStation mascots in robot form would help produce a colorful story and make for a memorable viewing experience.

9Valorant

Riot already has a very successful video game adaptation in the form ofArcane, which is among2024’s best TV shows; however,Valorantgetting a short story inSecret Levelcould show its wider potential. With an interesting roster of unique, diverse characters,Valoranthas all the traits needed to excel inSecret Level. Each agent has their own distinct abilities and the game’s extensive lore feels like it has a lot of unexplored dynamics that Prime Video could use to its advantage.

The game itself doesn’t leave too much room to explore the lore in great depth, but an animated short would bring even more interest to the franchise.

Secret Level Pac-Man Episode 3

Whether it focused on an established agent, multiple characters, or someone new entirely, the interesting combat system and variety of locations all around the world meanValorantcould have a stand-out episode. The game itself doesn’t leave too much room to explore the lore in great depth, but an animated short would bring even more interest to the franchise, and assuming it was a hit,Secret Levelcould be the catalyst for an entire animated series that may potentially match the detail and quality ofArcane.

8Ghost of Tsushima

Given Jin Sakai made a very brief cameo in season 1,Ghost of Tsushimahaving an entire episode inSecret Levelseems possible, and we’d love to see it happen.Alongside its breathtaking visuals and wonderful story, the game has a detailed universe focusing on samurai during the invasion of Japan. The well-crafted combat system would look great withSecret Level’s animated style, and it would be nice to see Jin add another chapter to his story ahead of the next game which will focus on a new protagonist.

Although he appeared inSecret Levelepisode 15, fans ofGhost of Tsushimawould have expected Jin to be much more involved after being teased in the trailer.Even if season 2 did include the IP and focused on different characters entirely, it would help appease viewers who wanted more from this universe, and knowing there are countless stories to tell when it comes toGhost of Tsushima, it only seems right that this award-winning game features in the show’s next outing.

7Pong

The Creators Have Teased Adapting The Classic Video Game

AfterSecret Level’s twisted take onPac-Man, it would be fascinating to see what they could do with one of the most old-school video games of all time,Pong.Although the show’sPac-Manepisode was extremely divisive, the decision to turn a classic arcade game into a disturbing horror is as ambitious as it gets, and Prime Video could repeat history.Secret Level’s producers talked about potential games for season 2, with Dave Wilson mentioning he had a desire to adaptPong.

How Secret Level Turns An Unlikely Arcade Classic Into A Gory Horror Story

Secret Level’s horrifying approach to Pac-Man highlights how effective adaptation can turn even basic arcade classics into something totally new.

Considering the game is incredibly basic and has seemingly no lore to dive into, it’s anyone’s guess whatSecret Levelwould do with the IP, but that’s what makes it so appealing. Turning it into a deep, emotional story, a competitive sporting event, or even somehow going down the horror route again would make aPongepisode incredibly memorable, and if it could reach the same heights as thePac-Manadaptation, we’d love to see it happen.

6Portal

Portal’s Unique Mechanics Would Make For A Great Short Story

Despite its relatively simple premise,Portalremains a beloved video game series 13 years after its last project. The mechanics of using portals to navigate new areas and solve puzzles is still one of the most innovative designs in the industry, which is still blowing players away in modern games likeMarvel Rivals. Luckily,Portalalso has an interesting story to go with its fantastic gameplay, and this is somethingSecret Levelcould easily adapt into a creative short story.

The likes ofSpelunkyandSifuboth had very condensed episodes that helped show off the unique elements of their source material, and Portal would fit seamlessly into this role.

A fun tale expanding the lore ofPortal’s research facility while paying homage to the popular franchise would give it the mainstream attention it deserves, and withSecret Levelhaving plenty of creativity, there is no doubt the producers could throw in a few surprises.

5Fortnite

The Hit Battle Royale Game Has An Expansive Universe

Fortniteis arguably the biggest video game to be released in the last decade, and while its popularity is almost unmatched in recent years, it hasn’t branched out much into other media.Disney’s Epic Games investment makes aFortnitemovie seem inevitable, but with nothing currently in development, it would be great to see the game appear inSecret Level. Alongside having plenty of collaboration potential, there are also a variety of interesting original characters, like Jonesy and Peely, who could carry a short story.

The countless unique items and notable locations also open up so many possibilities, and the narrative could go in any direction. While a more light-hearted story featuring llamas, boogie bombs, and the battle bus would be the most obvious choice, aFortniteepisode could also be surprisingly serious and focus on the last-man-standing aspect of the gameplay. Either way,Fortnitehas so many entertaining gimmicks that would be perfect forSecret Level, and with Liam Crowley suggesting he’d love to adapt the game, it will hopefully feature in season 2.

4Titanfall

Secret Level’s Stunning Animation Would Be Perfect For Titanfall’s Combat

Having amassed a loyal and dedicated audience, it would be great to seeTitanfallget the love it deserves in the form of an animated story.Putting a fun spin on the classic first-person shooter genre,Titanfallallows players to control Pilots who are able to shoot and fight on their own, yet they also take over Titans, which gives them even more firepower. As a result, the combat is diverse and flexible, creating a gaming experience like no other that should definitely become a part of Prime Video’s anthology show.

Secret Levelepisode 8already proved it could handle mech-based action, andTitanfallhas a somewhat similar vibe with an equally unique backstory. The second game provided an excellent campaign, meaning the adaptation could focus on any of the Pilots and their Titans, or even introduce someone new. With the franchise having such loyal fans, it could be one ofSecret Level’s biggest episodes assuming it was given the attention it deserves, and seeingTitanfall’s stunning warfare come to life in the form of an animated story would be a dream come true.

3Crash Bandicoot

The Fan Favorite Mascot Would Provide Incredible Energy

When it comes to platformers, few are as recognizable asCrash Bandicoot, as the game is bursting with personality that would fit a short story. Something as simple as Crash navigating one of the franchise’s many creative levels would be more than enough to provide audiences with some laughs while keeping them engaged. Watching the protagonist break crates, spin away enemies, and run from boulders feels like a guaranteed hit, andCrash Bandicootwould easily be a great marketing tool for season 2.

Even if Crash were to fail a few times, his energetic personality could tell a similar story to season 1’sSpelunkyshort about not giving up, which would be motivational and uplifting while maintaining the franchise’s signature style. If the episode wanted to be more story-driven, there are plenty of great supporting characters and villains that could feature to provide a more structured narrative.Regardless, havingCrash Bandicootinvolved inSecret Levelwould be hard to get wrong, and there’s no doubt audiences would love it.

2Doom

Doom Has The Potential To Be Both Dark & Entertaining

Few franchises can compete withDoom’s setting, as the game takes place in its own warped version of Hell, offering some original and eye-catching surroundings.Doomguy fighting demons has always been enough to entertain fans of the franchise, and there’s no reason it can’t work again inSecret Level, but there are options on how Prime Video would handle the iconic gaming series. Naturally, all-out action would be the best call, as the gory battles and badass weapons are a staple ofDoom, but an adaptation could opt to get pretty dark.

With or without Doomguy’s presence, the environment of Hell creates the potential for a very eerie and unsettling narrative, which could divert slightly from the usual violent atmosphere the game presents.Implementing elements of fear and presenting these demons as truly disturbing creatures could add an even more exciting dynamic to the franchise’s lore, and out ofevery video gameSecret Levelhas already tackled, none have the ability to get quite as chaotic and grotesque asDoom.

1God of War

Secret Level Need To Redeem Kratos After His Miniscule Role In Season 1

Out of every game that could feature in Secret Level season 2, there’s none more deserving thanGod of War.Although it does have a TV series in the works, Naughty Dog’s iconic series is perfect for the Prime Video show, and after Kratos' underwhelming cameo in season 1, the next installment feels like the right time to give him redemption.God of War’s world-building has allowed Kratos to become a brutal yet layered protagonist, and the mixture of Greek and Norse mythology opens up so many possibilities for an adaptation.

With season 1 featuring Kratos in its trailer, it seemed like he would have a much bigger role; however, a short story focusing on a part of his journey would more than makeup for the show wasting his potential. Additionally, there are so many other Gods who have interesting backgrounds, and it could even be the sort of game that gets follow-up episodes down the line. WhileSecret Levelis destined to have a few outside-the-box picks for season 2,God of Warshould undeniably be the project’s first choice for an adaptation when it returns.
