We Can’t Believe Pokémon TCG Is Bringing Back One Of Its Best Card Types After 25 Years

Three New Pokémon TCG: Surging Sparks Cards Are Revealed
Quaxly’s Evolutionary Line Is Great For Drawing Cards
The evolutionary line provides some good benefits during matches, mostly stemming from Quaquaval’s Ability, called Up Tempo. With it, once during the player’s turn, they may put a card from their hand on the bottom of their deck and, if they do, they can draw five cards. This is a great way of renewing the player’s hand, especially if they have spent most of it already. Seeing Abilities can be triggered from the Bench, Quaquaval does not even have to be moved to the Active spot inPokémon TCG.
Combat-wise, the cards do not match the potential of stronger cards, such as Pokémon ex cards, but Quaxly could be a great starting creature to have in the Active spot since it has a chance of tripling the damage done to opponents – which can be game-changing during the early stages of a match. The Energy costs for the entire evolutionary family’s attacks are also quite cheap.
This makes them quick options for finalizing some of the opponent’s Pokémon and drawing Prize Cards inPokémon TCG.
The three new cards join the other 18 cards fromParadise Dragonathat have been revealed for now. It is uncertain if all of the cards from the Japanese expansion will be adapted into theSurging Sparksset for Western markets, as there is a chance they will be cut or pushed into another expansion. Nevertheless, players who enjoy Dragon-type Pokémon can expect to have a good time withSurging SparksforPokémon TCGonce it arrives in November 2024.
