Space Marine 2’s upcoming patch adds a decent amount of content to the game, but I’m most excited about the new customization options. While I enjoySpace Marine 2, I probably wouldn’t have tried it in the first place if I wasn’t already a fan ofWarhammer 40,000. There is a lot to like aboutWarhammer, but my favorite aspect of the game and its world is its aesthetics. Luckily,Space Marine 2’sPatch 7.0 understands players like me exist, and it is giving us a treat alongside its other updates.
Patch 7.0 is one of several exciting stops alongSpace Marine 2’s roadmapfor the year. While I know a lot of players were disappointed in the Salamander champion for being a sniper and not a flamer-toting heavy, I still enjoyed getting some representation for my favorite loyalist chapter. The upcoming patch looks like it will continue the trend of catering to myWarhammer 40Ktastes with some of its new customization options. There are also quite a few other exciting updates coming in 7.0 that will improve the overallSpace Marine 2experience.

Space Marine 2 Is Getting Balance Changes In Patch 7.0
Classes Are Getting New Weapons, And Some Weapons Have Been Modified
There are a few balance changes coming toSpace Marine 2’s Patch 7.0, and it looks like most of these changes will be a positive. The upcoming patch willadd weapons to the PvE arsenals of every class, allowing for a wider range of loadout options. More specifically, the patch gives every class at least one larger weapon. Perhaps one of the most exciting changes is the addition of the power sword to the Assault class, something players have been asking about for a while now. The full list of additional weapons for each class can be seen below.
Heavy Bolt Rifle and Heavy Bolt Pistol

Combat Knife, Plasma Pistol, and Heavy Bolt Pistol
Power Sword and Plasma Pistol

Heavy Bolt Pistol and Instigator Bolt Carbine
Vanguard
Heavy Bolt Pistol and Bolt Carbine
The patch is also doinga rework to four versions of the Heavy Bolt Rifle. While two of the versions are getting a full buff, the others are getting a rework that includes a mix of buffs and debuffs. However, the two debuffed rifles are getting a scope and increased range, which will probably help give them a bit of extra utility.

Magazine increased to 50, Ammo Reserve increased to 200.
Artificer/Drogos Reclamation
Accuracy lowered to 4, Range increased to 8, Magazine decreased to 45, Ammo Reserve lowered to 180, scope added.
Magazine increased to 55, Ammo Reserve increased to 220.
Relic/Ophelian Liberaion
The final balance change is just addingcaps to the amount of fade HP that is restored per action by certain weapons. Fade HP or contested HP is the health you are able to gain back by attacking opponents. The weapons affected by this rebalance are the Heavy Melta Gun, Melta Gun, and Heavy Plasma.
New Customization Options Look Really Cool
New Colors And Space Marine Chapters Have Been Added
The patch notes posted onFocus Entertainment’s community page detail a few new customization options forSpace Marine 2. This includestwo new colors, Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue. As aWarhammer 40Kchaos player, I’ve done a fair share of painting with Thousand Sons Blue, and I’m excited to get to use it inSpace Marine 2. Volupus Pink is a color I would also associate with Chaos, its bright shade being perfect for models like the recentEmporer’s Children Army Box. You will now also be able to recolor your marine’s hands and bulwark cloth.
D&D Publisher Teams With Space Marine 2 Publisher On New AAA Video Game
Hasbro is teaming up with Saber Interactive to make a new video game based on Hasbro’s “tentpole” IPs, which could point to a new D&D video game.
Even more exciting customization additions weren’t mentioned in the patch notes, but were mentioned in the Public Test Server (PTS) FAQ that was posted onSteam. Although they won’t be playable just yet,the new Space Wolves and Imperial Fist champions will be in the patch. Space Wolves has always been one of the most distinct lookingSpace Marine chapters. Between the fur adornments on their armor and the wolf’s head helmets, these marines really stand out. While I’m not a big Imperial Fists fan - yellow isn’t my color - I’m sure plenty of fans are looking forward to them.

Patch 7.0 Will Be Massive For Space Marine 2
Patch 7.0 Adds New Missions, Lobbies, And Weapons
Aside from some cool new cosmetics, and the rebalances to the game,Space Marine 2’s Patch 7.0 adds quite a few new features to the game. This includesthe newExfiltrationPvE mission, and Prestige ranks in PvE. All game modes are also getting a new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, which can be used by Vanguards, Sniper, and Heavy classes. Hopefully, now that Snipers will have some style of flamethrower, the Salamander champion will feel a bit more authentic.
Space Marine 2 Has A Lot To Teach Vermintide, & It Could Become The Biggest Warhammer Game Ever
Space Marine 2 has been a revelation for the Warhammer 40k community, and if Vermintide gets a similar upgrade, it could be even bigger.
PvP will also be getting private lobbies, which is a nice option if you just want to play with your friends in a more casual setting. There is also a huge list of changes being made to the game’s weapon perks that are detailed in the patch notes. While I may be most excited aboutWarhammer 40K:Space Marine 2’s new customization options - even if I can’t play as the Space Wolf just yet - I’m looking forward to everything the upcoming patch has to offer.
