Ahead of its premiere, an originalThe Connersactor has wrapped up filming for theRoseannespinoff sequel. Born out of theunexpected death of Roseannefollowing Roseanne Barr’s firing, the ABC family comedy has been a steady ratings winner for the network in the last six years. The Connerswas able to seamlessly transition from its roots to become an ensemble, with various storylines going for all members of the beloved Lanford extended family. Despite its popularity, however,The Connersis ending its run after season 7.

Taking it to her official Instagram account,Emma Kenneyannounces that she haswrapped filming as Harris forThe Connersseason 7, which isn’t due to premiere until the mid-season. In the image, Kenney is seen holding a bouquet as she sits down on her set chair. What Kenney’s Early Filming Wrap Means For Harris’ Story

The Conners May Be Losing Another Cast Member Before Its Finale

As ABC’s premier comedy,The Connersusually returns between September and October every year. Season 6 was delayed because of the dual Hollywood strikes of 2023, much like the majority of scripted series on TV. For its final season, the network decided to push it to a mid-season debut, since it only has six episodes left. In her post, Kenney doesn’t make it clear if she’s the only one who has wrapped filming, or if the show itself is already done with production.

Considering the number of outings left inThe Connersseason 7, either is possible. If it’s the latter, the rest of the cast would have also finished their work, but since no one else has shared an update about it on social media, it’s difficult to say. That said, if it’s the former, Kenney wrapping up early is interesting, because it may be an indication as to what can be expected from Harris' story.

Kenney finishing up filming earlier than her co-stars could mean that her character may be leaving Lanford.

Darlene and David’s firstborn has gone through a lot in the last several years. InThe Connersseason 6, she inherited The Lunchbox from Jackie, who decided to retire from running it. Kenney finishing up filming earlier than her co-stars could mean that her character may be leaving Lanford. This would create a vacancy for the business that she should be running.

Our Take On The Conners’ Upcoming Ending

It’s Time To Say Goodbye

Ahead of the confirmation thatThe Connerswould be ending with season 7, I thought the show was already nearing its end. As a sitcom, it could have gone on for a couple of more years, because it could continue tackling the story of the new generation of Conners. However, whenJohn Goodman commented about not expecting the project to last this long, I thought that he may have already lost interest in continuing the show.

Instead of forcing it tomove forward without Dan Conner, it’s better to wrap it up with a complete cast. What’s surprising is that ABC chose topushThe Connersseason 7 to a mid-season debut. Even with just six episodes, it would be difficult to get its finale to a May release date — unless they are planning to kick things off sometime in the late first quarter of 2025.
