Ahead of the confirmation thatThe Connerswould be ending with season 7, I thought the show was already nearing its end. As a sitcom, it could have gone on for a couple of more years, because it could continue tackling the story of the new generation of Conners. However, whenJohn Goodman commented about not expecting the project to last this long, I thought that he may have already lost interest in continuing the show.
Instead of forcing it tomove forward without Dan Conner, it’s better to wrap it up with a complete cast. What’s surprising is that ABC chose topushThe Connersseason 7 to a mid-season debut. Even with just six episodes, it would be difficult to get its finale to a May release date — unless they are planning to kick things off sometime in the late first quarter of 2025.
