Like pastThe Legend of Zelda Games, players will come face-to-face with several bosses inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, like the Seismic Talus. Challenging these bosses requires Princess Zelda to explore Hyrule, meet NPCs, enter dungeons, and complete puzzles. Players will have some guidance through all this with Tri, Princess Zelda’s companion, and the Tri-Rod, which replaces Link’s usual sword.

InEchoes of Wisdom, there arenine bossesthat Princess Zelda will need to beat. Some are easier than others, especially those Princess Zelda meets at the start of the game. The first boss to be encountered is theSeismic Talus. Even though this is the first boss players will face off against, it still requires some strategizing to beat.

How To Find & Defeat The Seismic Talus Boss In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Enter The Suthorn Ruins Dungeon

Before Princess Zelda can challenge the Seismic Talus boss inEchoes of Wisdom, she must enter and explorethe Suthorn Ruins dungeon. To access the dungeon, enter the Stilled Suthorn Forest through a rift near Suthorn Forest. Travel across floating islands, beating monsters and opening chests along the way. You’ll eventually come across the dungeon entrance.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - How To Beat Ganon

When players reach the Hyrule Castle Dungeon and try to save their father in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, they will find themselves facing Ganon again.

Enter the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon and activate the Waypoint. Then, continue forward through the first door. Inside, you’ll find a giant rock. Tri will bestow a new power, allowing you to bind Tri to different objects and move them around. You’ll use this power in this first dungeon, moving large boulders and digging up buried chests.

Continue through the dungeon. Eventually, you’ll come to your first mini-boss,Shadow Link. You must beat him to progress through the dungeon.

Once you beat Shadow Link, you’ll gain a new power. By raising the sword you pick up from Shadow Link, you’ll temporarily transform into a Swordfighter.

How To Beat The Seismic Talus Boss In

Target The Glowing Purple Orb To Win

Entering the room will trigger a brief cutscene that reveals theSuthorn Ruins boss, Seismic Talus. He’s a pretty big foe compared to Princess Zelda. He is made entirely of rock, with glowing purple eyes and a purple orb at the bottom. Princess Zelda will want to focus her efforts onthe purple orb to defeat this stony menace.

My strategy was tosummon as many Keese as possibleand target the orb with ZL, which worked out reasonably well. Seismic Talus landed a few hits on me, which did some damage, and I quickly learned that I needed to move around quite a bit to avoid his giant hand slams. So, that’s how I spent my time — putting distance between us while summoning my Keese’s to do all the hard work.

If you’re struggling against this foe, open the Echoes menu to pause the game temporarily. While paused, look through your echoes and come up with a strategy.

Upon starting the fight inEchoes of Wisdom, Seismic Talus will float around Princess Zelda as though tempting you to attack. Don’t give in. Instead, watch his movements. He’ll soon throw a fist at Princess Zelda. Dodge it. My strategy involved using Keese, which means you can summon other monsters to attack the purple orb. Since it’s ground level, the Caromadillo will work.

Seismic Talus will slam his hands on the ground. Keep your distance so you won’t be knocked down. Keep attacking until the boss collapses and thepurple orb pops out. Transform into a Swordfighter and attack the orb with your sword.

Use Swordfighter only when Seismic Talus collapses and the orb is motionless. Since Swordfighter is temporary, you’ll want to conserve as much energy as possible.

Seismic Talus will wake up and regain his composure. Collect any floating energy left behind to reenergize your Swordfighter form. Continue attacking Seismic Talus until he changes the orb placement. Instead of on his bottom,it’ll now be on his arm. With his new form comes a new attack: a tornado spin with his arms. This attack has a decently sized radius, so stay far back from him when he’s swinging his arms.

Use ground-based echoes to attack the orb from below

Useflying or ranged echoesto attack the orb

Phase 3

Use flying or ranged echoes to attack the orb, but only when fully exposed.

You’ll need to change your strategy if you’ve been using ground-based echoes. The orb is no longer reachable from the ground, so summon Keese or a Spear Moblin. Launch into a series of attacksuntil the orb pops out again. Change back into Swordfighter and attack the orb with your sword.

Seismic Talus will regain his composure for a third and final time, and the orb placement will be changed again. The orb will nowsit tucked away into his head. His eyes turn red, and his aggression and speed increase. His attacks become quicker, and he can now shoot his hands at Princess Zelda. Move around the room until there’s an opportunity to attack.

Eventually, Seismic Talus willslam his hands down. At this point, he’ll be leaned forward, and the orb will be exposed. Summon your ranged attackers and focus them on the orb. After taking some damage, the orb will pop out a final time. Using your Swordfighter form, slash into the orb continuously until you beat Seismic Talus.

Once beaten, Seismic Talus willrelease Tri’s friends. Tri and the friends will mend the rift and restore Southern Forest. Tri will also grow more powerful and reach level 2, gaining a fourth triangle. You’ll also receivefive unusual crystalsthat can be used to upgrade Link’s sword and a heart container.

Rewards
