The game known asinZOI, considered to be the biggest competitor to the classicThe Simsfranchise, has just had its PC specs revealed. However, these specifications seem extremely demanding, and they may make you change your mind about playing the upcoming title, set for release later this March.inZOIis a new lifestyle game that allows its players to custom-craft their own characters and build homes, not unlike the titles in the beloved Electronic Arts (EA) series. The game, developed by inZOI Studio and published by Krafton, Inc., is set to be released on March 27 this year.

Now,the developers have revealed the full hardware requirements to run inZOI on different settings, including Minimum, Medium, Recommended, and High. The complete PC specs for the upcoming game were shared in a post on the officialinZOIaccount on X (previously Twitter):

The post shows exactly what players will need in terms of operating systems, processor power, dedicated memory, graphics cards, and storage space to be able to runinZOIon each of these particular settings. Compared toThe Sims 4base game, this competitor seems a lot more demanding regarding the necessary hardware – then again,The Sims 4was released back in 2014, over a decade ago.

inZOI’s PC Specs, Explained

The Minimum Requirements Already Demand An RTX-Equivalent Graphics Card

When compared toThe Sims 4, this is a much more demanding game. The best points of comparison here are putting the required processor, memory, and graphics cards side by side. WhileThe Sims 4requires a 3.3 GHz Intel Core i3-3220 (2 cores, 4 threads), AMD Ryzen 3 1200 3.1 GHz (4 cores) or better processor to run the game on its Minimum settings,inZOIneeds an equivalent to Intel i5 10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to do the same.

The table compares both titles within the aforementioned parameters, according toThe Sims 4’s page on Steam andinZOI’s post on X:

inZOI’s Minimum PC Specs vs. The Sims 4 (Base Game)’s Minimum PC Specs

In terms of memory, the EA game only needs 4 GB of RAM for it to run on Minimum, while the upcoming title needs 12 GB of RAM. When it comes to graphics cards, this may be the most shocking difference between them. The Sims 4only needs 128 MB of Video RAM and support for Pixel Shader 3.0, supporting cards like NVIDIA GeForce 6600, ATI Radeon X1300, Intel GMA X4500, or better. Meanwhile,inZOI’s Minimum PC specs require interested players to have at least anNVIDIA RTX 2060 (6G VRAM)or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6G VRAM).

The Game’s Casual Style Contradicts Its Heavy Hardware Requirements

These PC specs are pretty heavy considering the game’s casual nature. The title was compared to The Sims games, which are also casual and often have really smooth PC requirements, which allows all types of players – even those without advanced hardware – to enjoy the game. This title’s high PC specs, even on Minimum settings, should block out a lot of players, especially because they possibly haven’t invested in PC upgrades. Low-end and medium PCs won’t be able to run the game afterinZOI’s delayed release this year(originally predicted for 2024).

10 InZOI Features & Mechanics That Are Better Than The Sims 4

InZoi is an upcoming life sim game and many hope will be the title to finally challenge the Sims 4, with features that look like they will be better.

As much asinZOIhas the gameplay potential to go head-to-head with the EA franchise, the game’s excluding PC specs, which pushes away a lot of casual gamers with inferior hardware, may be exactly what caps its potential to be as successful asThe Sims. Unless these players are all willing to upgrade their PCs, I find it somewhat unlikely thatinZOIwill represent real competition forThe Sims– unless it finds a way of lowering at least its Minimum specs.
