One of the former West Coast Avengers’strongest assets was an affinity for fumbling their way out of chaos via out-of-the-box thinking and plenty of luck. With Coney Island getting rapidly overrun by the “Swingers”, they needed a lot of both. TheVenom Warunleashed symbiote pieces into the world, all searching for hosts, but “Swingers” are still alive. Unlike their undead Zombiote counterparts, they can’t just be dispatched with brute force without killing their innocent host in the process. While that limits options, having America Chavez around theoretically puts the universe at their fingertips again – including the World’s Largest Speaker.

The symbiote that has attached itself to Natasha Romanoff goes through their own Black Widow training and finds a new identity as [SPOILERS.]

While some symbiotes are notably stronger than others, most boast increased strength and agility as a baseline. In short, they’re a threat by default, but they come equipped with a few important weaknesses, including a sensitivity to sonic waves and high-frequency sounds. Gwenpool’s idea zeroed in on that weakness and the team took it as far as possible.By blasting the “Baby Shark” song across Coney Island at extreme volume, they were able to defeat the symbiotes en masseand stop at least one corner of the Venom War invasion;though played for laughs, the tactic itself is incredibly effective.

Neutralizing Large Numbers Of Symbiotes Is Key

Venom Warpresents a situation where one surviving symbiote, or Zombiote, can lead to the situation getting out of hand once more. The only way to get it under control is to respond on a massive level, rather than trying to handle individual “Swingers” or Zombiotes. In that respect, the previous West Coast Avengerswere certainly successful. They freed dozens of civilians and stopped all the symbiotes at the same time, preventing them from finding new hosts. By bringing in the World’s Largest Speaker and blasting the symbiotes with sound,Hawkeye’s West CoastAvengersintroduced one ofVenom War’sbest tactics.
