Considering the violent nature of its premise, it’s no surprise thatSquid Gameseason 3 is anticipated to be extra bloody, yet there is one character that I believe will make it out alive. Recently, Netflix released the second season of the South Korean thriller series,Squid Game. The new installment offered up new games, new characters, and even higher stakes. But, afterSquid Gameseason 2’s brutal ending, many believe that season 3 is going to be even darkerbecause all the characters introduced in season 2 are at risk of being killed.

Squid Gamenaturally lends itself towards death and violence. The Squid Games themselves are designed so that every contestant except for one dies. However,Squid Gameseason 2 has already shaken up this expectation by protecting much ofSquid Games’cast. Gi-hun is still alive, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be the sole survivor again. In this way,Squid Gameseason 3 will have to raise the stakes again. I can’t help but wonder howSquid Gameseason 3will handle its surplus of characters, and moreover, which course of action will be the most entertaining for the series.

Squid Game Season 3 Needs A Big Survivor - But It Can’t Be Gi-hun

Squid Game Benefits From Surprise

At the very least,Squid Gameseason 3 needs one big survivor. This is how season 1 did it, and it would make sense forSquid Gameto end the same way. However, I think thatSquid Game’ssurvivor cannot be Gi-hun. AlthoughGi-hun is the protagonist ofSquid Game,it seems unlikely that he would survive both sets of games and any other acts of violence inflicted on him by the Front Man. Furthermore,it would make sense for Gi-hun’s character if he ended up sacrificing his lifefor someone else who he wants to live more than himself.

While it would be great to see more than just one character survivethe end ofSquid Game,it is also unrealistic. Based onSquid Gameseason 2’s mid-credits scene, Gi-hun’s uprising does not seem to end the games. In fact, his efforts may make the games all the more aggressive. Therefore,ifSquid Gameis going to kill more of its characters, the best path would be to keep at least one character alive.Happy endings cannot be possible for everyone, but there are some who definitely should survive.

I’m Confident Player 222 Will Survive, And Might Even Win

Jun-Hee’s Story Has Already Been Laid Out

I believe the best player to survive the Squid Games is Player 222, otherwise known as Jun-hee. Jun-hee is a young pregnant woman who enters the games to win money to care for her unborn child. Ultimately, this is the biggest reason why I think she’ll win.Squid Gameis cruel, but it may not be so cruel as to kill a pregnant woman. In many ways, Jun-hee is not just one life, but two. Furthermore,Jun-hee is not there to pay off a debt but to support a new life. Thus, she could be considered the most moral player.

What Kim Jun-hee’s Name Means In Squid Game Season 2

The name of Jo Yu-ri’s character Kim Jun-hee in Squid Game season 2 has a very particular meaning that is not mentioned in the Netflix series.

Already,Squid Gameseason 2 has set up Jun-hee’s survival in season 3. Jun-hee is determined to win for her baby, and will not be intimidated by her ex-boyfriend, even when he promises to build a real family with her. Other characters have underestimated Jun-hee’s abilities because of her gender and condition, but Jun-hee has also been protected by those who want to save her and her child. Because of this,Squid Gamehas shown that Jun-hee is a hot commodity, and I can see this continuing intoSquid Gameseason 3.

Player 222 Surviving Could Help Multiple Stories

Jun-Hee Could Be A Great Symbol

My theory of Jun-hee’s survival seems even more likely when you consider how it would affect the other characters. As previously mentioned, Gi-hun would almost certainly sacrifice himself if it meant saving Jun-hee’s life. This could occur in the final round of Squid Game or in some other way. There is even a chance the Front Man himself could save Jun-hee, as his wife’s own troublesome pregnancy could elicit some sympathy from him. I believe there are very few good characters who would not protect Jun-hee.

Finally, Jun-hee would make for a perfect symbol at the end ofSquid Game.

Finally, Jun-hee would make for a perfect symbol at the end ofSquid Game.Over the course of its run,Squid Gamehas explored themes of class issues and humanity. The games themselves prove how greedy individuals can be, and how that greed can overwhelm their sense of human goodness. Yet,if Jun-hee was to survive and give birth to her baby, it would be a symbol of life being renewed.Because of herSquid Gameexperience, Jun-hee could reenter the world as a better person than before.
